I actually went to the park and shoot around while the wind was blowing around 15 MPH lol kinda made me mad cause it makes the ball turn. I might go to the gym today and play some bball with my friends lol and didn't you say doing cardio will help sore muscles? :p

Nope I didnt say that! lmao .. I forget who did, but they pasted a couple peeps after me. Actually my mother says to take it easy when you start getting sore ..and when I was in PE she didnt let me touch the weights after lifting it and pulling the muscles in my arm lol
I was using the bench and couldn't extend my arms out last month lol

I am going to start using the bench again and I am going to try the cardio thing the other person suggested ..but I went seven to nine days straight with the bench ..lifting really heavy weights ..too heavy for me ... I did a job ..couldnt even sleep at night

Kevi ..do what feels right for you .. I really dont know ..this is stuff I have been told ... lol

but I didnt not say cardio ..but going to try that out myself ..so give it a go!

Pulled muscles sucks! I pulled like 2 different muscles before, one was on my back and i could'nt stand straight or sit right and the other one was my shoulder, i can't move my right shoulder lol. It went away after 4 days, but can still feel some discomfort.

yes .. my first date was stellar and wouldnt it be nice if I had my thirty year old but aging nicely with a fine gentleman like him lol
we are making it official that we are bf and gf ..it was official a week ago, but he says he is going to tell his father about me and stuff .. he shares stuff with his father, his mother is not so nice to his gf, no one seems to be good enough lol I am not looking forward to that meeting somday, if it happens ..but that wont happen for a very long time ..if things were out right ..but you never know what life throws at you!!
it was only a first date and hopefully of many!
He says he so wants to be with me and he hopes I wont find someone who is closer in my area .. I told him I would never do that ..and that I really like him .. u know ..

Thank you for your warm welcome. I am very excited about losing 30 lbs. It's more than I have ever lost before. I still have a long ways to go but I guess I can't look at it like that.

I'm pretty burnt out right now I don't know why haha, I'm trying to pull myself out of bed.
My weight has been steady for like 2 weeks and I see it's a good sign, because I can see myself maintaining thesame weight :). I'm also trying to recover from a major loss xD This girl broke my heart *sighs*
 
I posted this in my diary but I thought I would share it here...I lost my gym partner, he got a new job and we thought it was going to work out but then his hours changed again (great for him, it is tied to a promotion) but as a result, no more workout partner.

On the surface this does not seem like a very big deal, however, what I realized the extent of the role he has played in this whole weight loss thing and so I guess I am kinda in mourning. I know it sounds dramatic, and I am normally not a drama queen but I am feeling kinda sad about it.

And yes, I know I can do it w/o anyone else, blah blah blah...but the point is that I am losing something that made me happy and I am kinda pissy about it, if you all will forgive me.

I went today and tried to get some of my anger out on the machines...so that worked in my favor.

Then I decided that a little retail therapy was in order so I went to the mall and spent mad money on myself. I picked up a totally cute red dress for $20 and I look pretty sexy if I do say so myself. Best part was it was an XL. I am finding that 1X clothes are too big for me now and for the first time, I actually passed Lane Bryant by.

Sorry to kvetch...it sucks when things aren't all hearts and flowers :)

I am 5'6
At my heaviest i was 240lbs last year
at my lowest 150lbs 6 yrs ago
currently sitting at 215 lbs

and have been here for months now i think i've hit my plateau (sp)

I work out 5-6 days a week, doing eliptical machine for 5 mins warm up, then i do 20 mins H.I.T for 1 min
normal pace for 1 min repeated then i do circut training for 40 mins
and do pliates and yoga twice a week

I am careful on my diet I have one cheat day, i'll admit it but i dont gorge myself..and take the following suppliments

fish oil 2x day
womens muliti vitamin 2x day
green tea extract 3x day
CLA 2x day
hydroxycut 2x day
glucosimine 2 x day

and avkar just before meals on my off day (s)

i've been trying hard for 3 months to loose 20 +lbs at least
and have another 5 weeks to go before our group vacation

I find that i float from 216 - 209 weekly but always seem to hover at 215

any help would be appreciated

i have also integrated the bike for my H.I.T. training for variety
i'm not a treadmill person, i have week knees and can't take the impact.
 
Maybe you're not eating enough. Maybe the Hydroxycut had made your body think you're starving. Or maybe you're eating too much. Eating the same thing all the time could, too. And eating trans-fats could be keeping you from losing weights (there was a study where monkeys were fed only what calories they needed to maintain weight, but monkeys who had some trans fats as part of that still gained). Also, so could stress.

Using the bike for variety is good. By circuit training do you mean lifting weights in any way, shape, or form? That might break your plateau.

Plateaus do suck... but you are working it ..and Congrats on your weight loss so far, big achievements so far ...

Read the sticky threads and what not, it might give you an indication on how to handle the plateaus ..welcome again ..

I'm trekking...I will check out that site...I am totally comfortable doing it alone, I am just bugged b/c it was a routine, you know? I have someone with you as you are going through it was a really big thing for me and not that he isn't still there for me, it will just be diffrent. I will get used to it, I am just not liking it :)

I am terribly resistant to change and that is something I am working on but it doesn't make it any easier...

Thanks for the good thoughts. I squatted 55 lbs today, totally a baby weight but more than I did last time so I was happy with it.

I ran the anger out on the elliptical so by the time I got to the weights I was substantially calmer...that being said, I have a herniated disc so I am very in tune to pushing myself to far...thanks for the advice, I do keep that in mind.

It is better than just being upset and eating, I see it as a positive way of dealing with some negative emotions...

Ginger - NEW BAG ALERT!!!! It isn't a Dooney or a Coach but it is GORGEOUS :)

I also picked up a sexy red dress simply b/c it fit, looked good and was $20 (reg price $100). Hehehe :) That helped make my day as well.

It is not permanent hun so soon enough you will be losing again. They are actually important. Its like your body says...ok hold on a moment...how much more fat do we have left? How's the skin elasticity? Can we survive another 50 lbs lost?:confused: and then the body answers itself :Angel_anim: yes. And then it starts again...Okay lets get this fat outta here!:gnorsi: It happened to Ali right as she was about to cross over the 200 lb mark and then before she knew it she was 196. Sorry to hear about the heartbreak, I've been there before....but don't worry, your a smart guy, from here on out it will only get better. like me, my first boyfriend was...well I cannot remember where he was from...I think he slithered out of one of the shadows in hell or something. Ginger - I def have one of those around here...the last time I was there I had one in my hand the entire time and ended up not purchasing it...I am very weird about bags, I have to LOVE it and it is usually an all-at-once sort of thing...I was walking through Macys and BANG! There it was, a lovely black leather, Etienne Aigner bag, the name is called Vienna. It was love at first sight :)

Thanks for the good thoughts about my friend, as I have been whining, I am resistant to change but we had a good talk today and it may be that he could be back in some capacity in a few weeks, I will just take it one day at a time and get through...at any rate he is still standing by me and supporting me which is one of the things I like about him :D

I can't wait until I have someplace to wear the red dress, it was just too freaking good to pass up...hell I may put it on and post a pic just for the fun of it!

There is definately something to doing that elliptical pissed off :smilielol5: it seems that anger is an effective motivator...not a way to live though :)
