New Year, New Thread for Those who Weigh 200 lbs/90 Kg or More

I found my mom's "Sweatin to the Oldies" tape with Richard Simmons and I've been working out to it the last couple of days. Is that a good beginning video for me to start off with? Does anyone else use these videos? Or am I like the only one? Because I've just ordered the whole set on DvD the other day for like 30 bucks. :willy_nilly:

Once upon a time I used to work out to those. And yeah, it seems like a great start. The time may come that they're too easy, but if that happens you can always jump a little more/higher or something similar.

One other thing to mention, I read somewhere that if you do the same video, your body gets used to it in about four weeks, so you should change it out then. I think that came from Fitness, but it might have been Shape or WW. I'm addicted to work out/weight loss magazines. ;)

As for workout DVDs in general, I have ummm... a whole, whole lot. Like 20 and they range from crazy to boring to fun. If you want to know anything else about 'em, let me know!

Never seen snow?? Oh Ginger hun, come visit me in Oregon. I have a guest room and I will take you up to Mt. Hood for a day of sledding or snow shoeing! (you know the big mountain that you have seen on the news where the climbers get lost? that is Mt. Hood and it towers above Portland.) Nice thing here, it rarely snows in the valley, but is only about an hour to the mountain. So we can play in it all we want without having to drive or shovel.

I was thinking, maybe Kev is down under. It is summer there. That would explain the heat for him this time of year.

Tabbi....I get it. 20 below isn't walking weather! As long as you are getting to the gym!

Keep up the great work and have a great weekend everyone!:willy_nilly:

Hey you live in Oregon? That's so cool, I do too! What part, if you don't mind me asking??

p.s I love Oregon!!

Yeah, I got quite a bit too. I got Tae Boe Bootcamp, The Biggest Loser, Jillian's Beginners Frontside and Backside Circut Training, Richard Simmons, and Carmen Electras Aerobic Striptease. Haha.. So, I got plent of them to change it up with so that muscle memory doesn't set in to quickly. Thanks for letting me know it takes about 4 weeks to set in. I didn't know that.

Lady Umbra CONGRATS!!! I did the same last week!! Yay!!!!!!!

Veronandez, you reminded me of a questions. I have one of those aerobic stripteases, but I've never done it. I heard it wasn't really hard and I figured I didn't need to embarrass myself for nothing. Does anyone here have an opinion of the DVDs?

I know this is soooo late, but welcome Snookums!! Please forgive my lateness...I've been really out of it lately and have not been able to get on...and just as i think i am getting better BAM lol I am :ack2: again. I always seem to come when there is good news tho. I am so happy that you could join us and I know that u will be out of the 200's so soon. Everyone in this group does so well! Again welcome :cheers2:

WOoooooooooooooooooooooooooo:willy_nilly: Ladyumbra  YOU DID IT!!! out of the 240s for good! Congratulations!! I knew you could do it!!

Veronica, I'll skip on over to your diary after this post if you don'y mind :D Would love to see what's going on there ;)

Spartacus, I have never done the striptease thing, but I have done bellydancing LOTS OF FUn and a great workout. I think most people are a bit awkward when trying a new routine, but you'll get the hang of it soon enough. When I was younger I was quite acrobatic with my dancing...I used to even dance balancing on the upper part of my arms, shoulders and neck lol I think I would break my neck if I tried that now with this much weight on...but once I come down a few pounds I think I'll give it another go ;)

A big HELLO to Nataliejo and Juliana Rose:waving:...see you all soon!

hello guys! I'm out of 210 mark hehe i'm officially 208.xx i checked today and i was full :)

Awesome! :hurray:That's so cool that you lost so much, maybe even a pound more since you weighed yourself while being full. Keep on keeping it on (or in this case off) 8 more pounds to go then you will be under 200! Great Job!

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: hugs to everyone who needs it today :) and  for all who managed to resist whatever temptations you had today. I've been doing pretty okay diet-wise I am giving myself one more week to hit the scale...although I'd really like to kick it sometimes :D How's everyone today?

I've been doing pretty terrible on my diet/workout lately. My being sick really got me thrown off my game. I can barely walk up the stairs quickly without my lungs hurting still. I think I just need to start slowly getting back into working out. I just feel crappy because I do SO great for a while and then something inevitably ruins it. I feel like I'm never going to actually lose weight.

Thank you all! :)
Okay, I just got home from a birthday party and i was pigging my stomach out lol.
TOmorrow, i'm going to this little kid's party, I have to be there because of my mom and because i love riding go karts haha.
After that...probably hit the gym and burn it all off
Sunday, play 3 hrs of basketball hehe.
I probably took like 5000 Cal just today and 5000 more tomorrow. Goodbye 207 lbs! LOL

:grouphug:Cameraobscura i am sorry to hear that you are not feeling 100% yet, I hope you feel better soon. I know how difficult it is, but don't worry, you will lose weight. Just take it easy and allow yourself to recover, don't push yourself too hard. You will be better soon and losing weight in no time:grouphug:

KEVIIIIIIII I hope you have fun today....me too I like go carts, they remind me of how i drive everyday :p (just kidding.....or am i :D)

Hi Everyone!!!

Congrats to everyone who has been able to achieve a small victory this week whether it was by losing weight or making a good choice when you really wanted to be bad...every little step in the right direction counts!

I just ended the week from hell at work, all I wanted to do was eat chocolate 24/7...somehow I managed to stay mostly on track (which is hard when you are working unwil 11:30 pm each evening) so that was a victory for me. My usual MO is to just say f*ck it and go completely off the wagon. I guess after a year some of these changes I made finally stuck.

I got on the scale the other day on a whim and it was 191.2...which I thought was a fluke or the result of a broken scale...so I hopped back up there the next morning and it was 192. 4 so I guess I really did lose some more :)

That makes the total come to 72...I can't believe that I have actually made an entire person (a small one, albeit, but a person nonetheless) disappear. Crazy.

Whenever it gets hard, try to remember all of the victories you have achieved along the way and how badly you don't want to go back :)

I hope everyone is having a great weekend...

Okay, so I seen that most of you have a diary, therefore I decided to make one for myself. It's called The Diary of V and I got a couple of pictures on it of myself and how I look now if you all wanna check them out.

Anyway, I have a question.

Best thing I ever got on Ebay was a Coach credit card holder, I think it sold for 75-100 dollars and I got it for 30 :) Nothing beats a good deal...

I am loving onderland, but I went through I few days where I was like, "I have HOW far to go still???" I have to try to focus on where I was a year ago (and for the 10 years before that) and remember how far I have come. Breaking things up into smaller goals has helped b/c let's face it, most of us here aren't just trying to lose 10 pounds to look better in a swimsuit, you know?

The other issue I am struggling with is the fact that it is becoming more evident that I am going to need some sort of corrective surgery near or at the end of this thing (and I know that there are differing schools of thought on this issue as far as loving what God gave us, etc...for me personally, I won't feel complete looking like a deflated balloon, esp with what I want to do as far as strength-training goes once I am done losing fat...sorry about the long paranthetical, ha ha) and any type of surgery is going to result in a set-back...something along the lines of two steps back to go one big step forward...so I have no idea when the end will be but I know that getting there will be harder than it was getting to this point. Thankfully I have you guys :) and some really great people at home who help me keep it all in perspective, which on those low days, is so helpful.

All in all I am so happy, especially now that I can shop in a wider selection of stores than before but it is a little overwhelming after only really having Lane Bryant as a choice for the last half of my life.

I dug out my high school softball jersey the other day and it fit again, which was a HUGE accomplishment...it was like erasing time...I am so glad I didn't throw all that stuff out when i gained weight...what a fun experience...

How are things in your neck of the woods???
