I think I was in this thread once before but lost it ^-^. I want out of the 240's so goddamn bad right now I was 248 sunday and 246.8 2 hours ago of course I can't really trust the scale till my regular weigh in time Sunday. lets just hope I can resist all the junkfood being brought to my house tonight

Pink I know you can make it out of the 270 range the weight might be fluctuating but it's going to come off.

Hey Ladyumbra!! Welcome Back!!

Don't get to psyched over the scale ... weigh in, but make sure you know you might be farther down by weigh in day ..

maybe join a challege, they are fun ...
I am hoping they take my suggestion
and put the next one up as

Bring it on Spring
or Bring on Spring ...

anyway ttylater

Ali!!! First...hugs for you You'll get there don't worry. Look at me scraping to get out of the 270's haha 274-276-279-275-274 GOOD LORD! I totally feel like i am in a rollercoaster ride lol. But don't worry sometimes when you are so close you feel so far and then you jump over that brick wall and it is smooth sailing. You will make it!!

Thanks pink clouds!!! That is how the 220s were for me (I started this thing at 264 so I definately remember what it is like to be up there and just wanting-to-get-down. Apparently the low 200s are the same deal, i just feel like enough already!!! I am not normally this whiny but sheesh...I have just been feeling bloated and heavier and have been wanting to eat everything in sight, behavior that is not conducive to getting to Onderland...:toetap05:

You are completely right though, one day I am sure when I least expect it I will get on that scale and it will be there staring me back in the face...three numbers starting with a 1...

Ali I do the same thing with my food, not so much anymore. I am reading a book about Food Addiction and doing the book work. But I am learning the different ways you can avoid the food, and break the cycle ..

nataliejo is it working for you? The biggest problem I have (and this is embarassing but I suspect that I am not the only person doing it) is that I will either (a) eat emotionally (you always go to your comfort zone in times of stress) or (b) I will 'graze' my way through the kitchen, opening cabinets or the fridge eating a little of this, a little of that and the next thing you know...you ate dinner, before dinner.

That is the thing that I have to work on b/c it can so easily undo everything you are working towards and because when I graze I am not paying attention to what I am eating, I can't even begin to guess at how many calories I am consuming...

It is raining here and just generally yucky so I apologize if I seem like a complainer today...

Congrats to all the newcomers for finding the coolest thread in the whole forum!

Hiya Ali!
Yea I know about grazing, I still do it a little, trying to keep myself from doing it. The food addiction book is working VERY well. I am finding so much about myself and why I eat when I eat. Sometimes I just find myself in front of the fridge with it open and I don't even know why I am there, when I wanted to do something else there... u know

but anyway ... Than it got so bad .. I ended up getting chocolate all over my bed ... I than knew I had to do something, so I threw out all the chocolate and only eat a few pieces of chocolate at peppy farm when my mom is working ...but I don't eat chocolate anymore, but I have no clue how it will go this month ... I will be on the "rag" next week most likely ...should be interesting ..haven't had it for a while... but I have heard you burn more calories during your ... monthly than with out .. Its all good!

that is exactly it!!!! i can't stand that...what is the name of the book???

I just have to say, my boss brough in these bakery donuts this morning and they are calling my name! I have resisted so far, but man, who needs to be tested like this???

Thanks, Nataliejo. I think you're right. It's learning to enjoy things in moderation (though I speak as someone who's just eaten a rather large bowl of spaghetti Bolognese). However, it was pretty lean, tomorrow is another day and I'm not going to weigh in until Wednesday, so I still have time to put things right.
Like a lot of you, I tend to graze as well. Because I work from home at a computer, I find when I'm bored, or finding a job difficult, I give myself a little break which, if I'm good, is just a cup of tea or coffee - but can often be more. I've taken to making myself bowls of sugar-free jelly (jello?) as a snack, which is working at the minute. I imagine I could go off it pretty quick, though!

Hey guys, just an update. I weighed myself in and punched in 210.4 hehe and have lost in total for 18.3 lbs in almost 2 months :)

:grouphug: Welcome LadyUmbra!!! I have not seen you on this thread before, I think it was maybe another thread that you were on. I tried to revive the old threads before this one came along. So you are fresh and new here like the rest of us!! A fresh new start on an old battle. This time we will win! I am sureof it!! Thank you for the encouragement on the 270 range. This morning I was 274.2.... I try not to look at the points so I do not become obsessed, but i was looking at this .2 and thinking how utterly evil it is LOL I am confident you can get out of the 240 range as well! You are already 2 lbs closer!! I cannot wait to see how you do on sunday:) I am sure I will be 275 tomorrow. I feel like I am getting sick today and whenever that happens I go up the next day...:icon_bs: who am i kidding!! I cheated a little today and i think that combined with this first day of sickness thing will raise it. but enough about me

LadyUmbra :cheers2:here's to 239.9!!

Welcome to the thread Cerella :grouphug:...Cerella is like the name of a luxurious goddess drinking the silver wine of life from a diamond goblet while zapping muscular men on the earth with lightning from her index finger :D In other words...I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I also think Cinderelly is sooo cute and it fits your smile :) (your real smile from the avi that you had before) So i may use both if its okay with you. You're not far off from Onederland now and I know that you can make it!! A single mom with two children who is still losing weight!! Onederland better watch out for you

KEVIIIIIIII:party:WOOOOOOOOOOOO you are doing so well!! Congratulations on your weight loss!! I am sooo happy to hear about it :-D

Your suggestion of targeting smaller amounts of weight is a good one. As a Brit, it comes more naturally to me to think in stones (14lbs) and half stones – so, only two pounds to my first half stone!

Good luck getting out of the 270s, Pink Clouds - I recommend home-made vegetable soup (butternut squash and carrot's good). I've been having it for lunch all week, and it's gorgeous. I give myself a nice big bowl of it, too!
I will try it Popcorn...the sad thing is I have never made soup before unless it was pre-made in a can...how sad. But I will give it a try it sounds scrumptious!! The whole stones things really interests me but I can never understand the concept of it because its always explained as 14 pounds and I cannot see how one who is better acquainted with the metric system can identify weight in pounds comfortably. 14 pounds converted is 6.3 Kg so I wonder like how did they invent this stone? How many exact Kg is a stone? Do you know how they came about making this measurement? Sorry to bore you with something so simple...it is probably the same as asking why is 8oz. a cup...but I am so intrigued by this. I even tried to google it but i just get rocks LOL I would love to track your loss in stones with you lol maybe soon I will be talking in stones as well. :D

Ali thanks for understanding my plight! I do not think you are being whiny at all LOL but maybe I am..I talk about the 270s in almost every post!!

You should start it up Nataliejo!! I would join. It would be cool to correlate weight loss to seasons!! We could have Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter...Heck I might even sport an avi with the season in chinese writing...The earth of spring...The fire of summer...The wind of autumn...the ice of winter. I know Ice is not an element but I don't think the water of winter is very fitting, well unless you're from Florida or somewhere tropical. Ohhh and by the way....

Chocolate all over the bed isn't always such a bad thing ;)

Can anyone here share their eating habbits?
I will start it off with mine:
Breakfast: Some rice and whatever food my dad makes
Lunch: Rice Crispies
Dinner: Rice and whatever my dad makes
I eat before 7 and no later than 7 PM.

Hi Pink Clouds,
Stones are just an old imperial measurement - it seems illogical when you've used metric all your life, but when you've grown up describing your weight as, say, nine stone two (I wish!), it is a bit confusing hearing weight given in a mass of pounds. Wiki describes the background better than I can – it's just a bit of a UK anachronism, really.
I really recommend making soup. I saw a programme that ran an experiment that demonstrated that if you gave someone a plate of food and a glass of water, and then another person the same food and water, cooked and pureed to make a soup - the soup kept the person more 'full' for longer. The great thing about soup is you can cook up any old veg, some stock (cubes are fine), and whiz it up in the blender and it always tastes better than the sum of its parts. I always start off by frying some onion, and often add a potato to give a velvety texture - everything else is pretty low in calories.

Thanx for the warm welcome:)Cerella or Cinderelly is fine - I love your name by the way!!!

Cerella originates from Greek Mythology - it means Goddess of the Spring...I always have to laugh cuz I feel I have a name I can not live up too - I found your description of my name to be pretty close so - I had to keep reading to see if you knew it origin...Im also born in the spring - that is why my parents named me Cerella.

Im glad you restarted this - I belonged to the old thread:)It is nice to see so many in here and using it:):):)

POPCORNNNNnnnnnnnnnn Thank you so much!! So I am 19 stone 8 :D You've created a monster:willy_nilly: Now that I understand it, I'm going to be using it!! It is easier for me to understand than Kg that's for sure!! All this talk of soup has completely enticed me!! I am going to get some today...minestrone. And yes still in a can... I am a bit under the weather today :ack2: and lazy as usual. But I am planning on making my first pot of soup next weekend. maybe potato carrot soup with butternut sqash :drool5:(this emoticon grosses me out a bit)

You know how we talked about diets before and the restriction? Last night I was thinking about salads because on the diet I was on, there are certain vegetables I cannot have and nuts are a no no. But now that I am free, I am going to make my favorite salad :-D Are you ready for this LOL...Iceberg or Romaine lettuce with beets (precooked and sliced no salt or sugar added), walnuts and raisins. I'm a weird one, am I not :p I love this and I do not use dressing for it. Ahhhh the freedom :hat:

(I just proofread this...horrendous sentence structure ;-))

Cerella, I am so shocked. I was going to say "Greek" goddess, but I actually never heard of Cerella in my studies and that is why I did not say it. Soooo wild...I feel somehow psychic :flame: I really did not know it was the name of a goddess. I totally think you can live up to it, especially the zapping :D Somedays I like to think of myself as a goddess and I do my fair share of zapping.

Hi Kevi Here's what I normally do (well for the past week) when I am not sneaking in forbidden snacks:

Breakfast: Kashi Heart to Heart cereal and 2% reduced fat milk (for some reason I do not like whole milk)

Lunch: Chicken Salad

Dinner: Chicken and Vegetables

I like to snack on raw stringbeans as well. I'll keep you posted on what I eat this week.

Goodjob pink! Keep loosing those weight :)
Unfortunately for me, I won't be able to do some running for awhile...I hurt my left ankle 2 weeks and it seems like I hurt it again last thursday :( I have put too much weight and pressure on my tendons while playing basketball.

*Dances like a fiend* 245.4 today, ^-^ I want our of the 240's by next sunday, I know it maybe impossible but that's what I'm gunning for. * toasts Pink Clouds* oh yeah we can do it.

Happy Sunday all!
Haven't posted in awhile because I haven't had much to post. I was sick for a couple days last week so I missed a couple days of exercise, but made sure I got right back into the routine, the first day I was feeling better I went to Y and walked laps at my own pace.
Got on the scale yesterday and I'm down 3 pounds...course that could be because I didn't eat much last week and what I did eat...umm, didn't stay with me. :( We'll see what I'm at when I weigh in on my official weigh in day on Monday. I'd love it if I was still there. I'd be at 213 and all the closer to my first big goal!

I think, most importantly, I feel good I feel good emotionally, physically, I just feel good about myself. I know I have a ways to go, but I am getting compliments about my progress and I can see some of the progress. My gams are looking hawt! :D

Ouch Kevi!! I am so sorry to hear it :hug2: I hope you feel better. I ripped some tendons in my ankle when I was younger and it was so bad I had to get a cast. So I know how painful it can be. But don't worry, just give yourself time to heal and take it easy for a little while after u are better.

:party:LadyUmBRA Congratulations on the weight loss! I totally think u can do it!! You will be out of the 240's and I will be out of the 270's by next week!! :cheers2::cheers2: 2 toasts to that!

Gams are legs...kind of an old fashioned term. I did notice today that my jeans seemed a little looser.

Hello everyone!
Congratulations Tabbigirl, and well done Pink Clouds - 19 and a half stone! It's always good to get over a half-stone notch. I've put a little chart on my wall and I'm itching to colour in my first half stone (only 28 of them to colour in!).
Somebody on the forum gave me a link to a very 'hands-off' eating regime that ties in really well with how I want to lose weight - no very strict rules, just sensible eating plus half an hour's walking each day. It features soup as well:hurray:. So this morning, as soon as the kids had left for school, I wired up to the iPod and hit the streets - very bracing! Here's the , if anyone's interested.

Kevi you look great!!! You are such a cutie and you look like a really nice guy :) You have lost so much weight! Congratulations!! I am happy your neck came back lol...I am obsessed with seeing mine again :p Thank you for sharing the pictures, they are rather motivational.

Thank you for explaining what gams are Tabbigirl. Happy to know that yours are getting hotter :D Hot gams rule!

Popcorn, I browsed a bit in the link. IT IS SO MUCH FOOD!! lol... I cannot believe it! And yes it is a guideline but there is so much freedom of choice. I will read it more, but I was just so shocked at how much food it is LOL. And with bread too :D Thank you for posting the link...It reminded me also to post one that I keep forgetting to post.

EVERYONE I know that most of us still have a ways to go, and a few like me have over 100 pounds to lose still. One of the main things I think about, and I know that many other people think about, is loose skin and stretch marks. I found an article that makes good recommendations, but I cannot post the link here because they advertise products on the site, so I will just post the article for everyone. He talks about all the options from vitamins to oils to even surgery as a last resort. It's quite informational. It takes time to lessen the appearance of stretch marks and loose skin so if we start implementing things into our regimen now...we may significantly decrease the appearance of stretch marks and effectively manage our weight loss not to have "loose skin." I have already started to take pills with flax seed, fish oil and some other oil that begins with "B" but i forgot what it's called. :p I hope this works!!
