New Year, New Thread for Those who Weigh 200 lbs/90 Kg or More

Hey everyone, I was just wondering how much weight everyone loses when they drop a pants size. I know everyone is different, I'm just interested in how different everyone is.
 
Good Morning all! I'm feeling a little frustrated this morning. No weight loss for the second week in a row. :banghead: Technically my 'official' weigh in day isn't until Monday and I know in the past I'll weigh in a couple days later and show a loss that wasn't there a couple days ago. So, I won't get too upset yet. It's just a little frustrating to not see the numbers drop. And I know it's not all about the numbers on the scale, but it sure is nice to see them go down.

Spacecase, thanks for the compliment on my avatar...it actually looks a bit like me (well, a slightly smaller version of me), that's why I chose it. I should put my pic in my profile so you can see. I like yours too!

Summerbaby, I can beat your driving 5 miles to the gym to walk on a treadmill. I drive...a little over 2 blocks, I can see the gym from my front door. :eek: However, here in Minnesnowda it gets frigidly cold and I am a total wuss when it comes to cold. As soon as it warms up to a reasonable temp, I will walk to the gym again. Okay, so that won't be until June, but still...;):rolleyes:

Morning girls!

Oh, Tabbigirl....don't fret about the scale. You know how we hear that muscle weighs more than fat? Well, I saw a photo someplace on the forums of a pound of fat next to a pound of muscle. WOW. Pay attention to how your clothes are fitting for now. I bet you are actually losing fat and replacing it with heavier, lean muscle. Keep at it, this is more than JUST losing, it is living a healthier life (and the result will be a smoking hot Tabbi!)

And really now....2 blocks? :svengo: Girl, put on your coat and hat and walk! Your car doesn't even get warm in that distance!

I am frustrated with how my own weight can go up or down 2-4 pounds in one day. I weigh each morning when I get up, before my morning coffee. That way it is the same time/circumstances each day. Yesterday down 4 pounds!! in one day!! Today, up 2. I know it would be better to weigh in weekly, yet it keeps me on track.

OK, so gym membership starts Monday. This weekend my daughter is home from college, so will spend the weekend having fun with her.

I know how frustrating it is when you stand on that dang scale (will I ever stop seeing it as an evil being that must be eliminated???) and nothing happens, or worse, it goes up. summerbaby is totally correct, you have to shift your focus when that happens and try to find other positive changes that are taking place.

For example, look at the fit of your clothes or your jewelry...look at the shape of parts of your body you don't normally focus on. One day I was running my hand over my collarbone and realized that for the first time, I could actually feel the bone. My forearms are thinner and my feet are a little smaller. There are numerous small changes taking place that tell you how you are progressing without ever touching the scale. You are getting stronger as well, that is an accompishment to be proud of.

Every day you move forward into your new life style is a victory, you don't need the scale to tell you that.
 
Hey guys :) I'm kevin I've been a member her for awhile now, but I gave out the wrong information about my weight haha, but I updated my ticker. I started at 228.7 lbs and as of January 24, 2008 I was 212 lbs. I will keep updating. I wanna look good by the end of may maybe hit 190 lbs or lower if possible.

Tabbgirl, I would recommend you hit to weigh yourself atleast once a week like what I'm doing. I weigh myself in either every thursday or weigh myself this thursday and wont weigh myself for another 2 weeks while working out hard or doing cardio cause that's when you see results.

Summerbaby...sorry i could not return last nite BUT OMG bonaire!! I totally had to check pix out to see what it is like there and it is so nice! That is so much inspiration and I am so excited for you! You can lose so much weight between now and April and you will be even hotter. I cannot wait!

Cameraobscura, I do not know how much weight it takes to lose a dress size for me....10-15lbs maybe ahdunno---when i was possibly over 300, I was a size 18/20 top 24 or 26 bottom (coz of my belly...my legs are not really so big just this huuuuge belly), at 289 lbs a 14/16 top 24 bottom, and now @274 a 14/16 top?? 22/20 bottom?? I think but I don't know really...I am still wearing my baggy 24s :rotflmao: too baggy...in fact I have a skirt that twists around me like crazy. Sometimes I'll sit and when i get up, the back pockets are in the front LOL. And if I want it to come off I shake my hips and it falls to the floor LOL. When I was 200lbs before I wore an 11/12.

How's everyone else doin :D

wait for the weather to COOL OFF? Where are you? We are expecting freezing rain and then snow on top of it tonight and tomorrow morning! We rarely get snow, this is an unusually cold winter for Oregon. I can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit.

Thanks for everyone's encouragement. I really appreciate it. I do see other differences, my legs are looking damn hot! ;):D:rolleyes: I just have to try to realize it's not all about the numbers on the scale and that it will come. My Mom also just sent me some pics to help me out with before and after. December of last year...I was big. To see the difference between this year and last year, I was shocked. I will have to post them, even though it's kind of embarrassing. :eek: Right now, I'm going to work out! :D

Summerbaby, I hear what you are saying, but this is also Minnesota. We're talking negative 20 or more wind chills, snow covering the sidewalks, etc. That and yes, I am a complete and total wuss about the cold. The wind almost always blows here, combine that with subzero temps...I ain't walkin' to the gym....:driving:

Never seen snow?? Oh Ginger hun, come visit me in Oregon. I have a guest room and I will take you up to Mt. Hood for a day of sledding or snow shoeing! (you know the big mountain that you have seen on the news where the climbers get lost? that is Mt. Hood and it towers above Portland.) Nice thing here, it rarely snows in the valley, but is only about an hour to the mountain. So we can play in it all we want without having to drive or shovel.

I was thinking, maybe Kev is down under. It is summer there. That would explain the heat for him this time of year.

Tabbi....I get it. 20 below isn't walking weather! As long as you are getting to the gym!

I am 5'6, close enough. I fit in a 18/20 shirt right now. I am an apple shaped woman lol .. I always didn't like apples, but now I am one! lol oh well ...

when I am down, I will be an hourglass, timeless as ever :)

but my real shape is an hourglass figure... right now I am a bit of an apple, but the lower and upper abdomen are starting to get smaller with my boxing routine I do while walking .. I make a total fool out of myself lol, but I don't care, as long as I have the body I want in a couple years .. I will be a happy fool lol

I have a wardrobe running from a size 24 down to a 14. The problem with the 16s and 14s are that they are from when I was in high school back in the early 90's...so...style is an issue :)

I have been so happy to outgrow all of my larger clothes but this weight loss thing is an expensive proposition! Not that I am ungrateful for the opportunity, I am just running out of money!!

Anyway, I am still unsure what I am going to do for myself, but 200 is coming fast so I guess I need to make up my mind...

I think my profile says it but I am from South Jersey, it is currently 27 degrees and VERY cold...

Wow ..clothing for the nineties. Do you remember those shirts that had all the frills? lol

I remember a lot of grundge. I wore the garb lol I don't know if I would wear it these days lol
but I have stuff from when I was back in 2001 and it was all peasant girl shirts were in for going out and I still have them. They are breath taking .. I would wear those going out to dinner ...

Yesterday I got an email from a girlfriend and was invited to join a group going to Bonaire in April (3 of my best girlfriends! yay!) So now I am really motivated. I will be spending a week on the beach. So, I called a friend that owns a gym yesterday (she is part of the Bonaire party) and asked for the Bonaire Friends Special. She is letting me join for $20 a month, no joining fee. woohoooooo. I am going down on Monday. Will let you all know how this goes.

Doesn't it seem funny that I will drive 5 miles to the gym to walk on a treadmill?? and then drive home? Oh well, here in Oregon, you have to have webbed feet 8 months out of the year if you want to get outside. Plus........and Ginger you and I will have to trade notes........I get to take YOGA again. They offer all kinds of group classes.

It may be a high goal, but I would like to hit 200 by April 12 and the day we fly out. That is 27 lbs in like 11 or 12 weeks. I may not quite make it, but knowing I will be in a SWIMMING SUIT will help keep me on track.

Hey, anyone have thoughts on the Green Tea capsules that are out there?

I too am looking forward to March or April, when my father will be coming up. I am getting a new bathing suit for swimming. We are going to stay at the Double Tree in Cambridge. Last year I didn't dare go into the swimming area or gym. Its a hilton hotel and has tons of this, suppppper thin girls ...

so I am hoping to blend in a little more and just have a good time ... I will be forty five pounds less and I am looking forward to it .. I will be out there are ten pm ..swimming my butt off and using the treadmill in the gym...and won't feel any shame or guilt ..over the tiny piece of cheesecake they give you at night .. I am so looking forward to the treat of the night ..all night long ..running around this expensive hotel! yea!!

The bathing suit is definitely worth a goal ..:iagree:you chose and good goal!!

I actually walk in the cold, but no lower than twenty five degree...well I walked in 22 degrees .. I didn't mind ,,but any lower and I work out inside .. lol

Haha, I'm actually from Texas. I came from Florida 6 months ago haha. The weather today was fun, I played some outdoor basketball with some friends.

I have been with someone for four years. But I broke up with the more than two months ago, about eleven weeks ago. There is this guy I like, name Chris. I asked him if he would like to be friends and chill. So he didn't call, but he said he was busy with friends. He is 26, I am thirty. AM I too old? What am I supposed to do? We are set to have dinner or lunch on Saturday at the Weathervane Restaurant, which is in Kittery Maine.

Do I wear a skirt or pants? probably pants. hmm..I don't think I should get wrapped up in him. He is really young in a way, goes down to Boston to be with his friends. Mountain bike rides. I road bike, SLOWLY WHEN I bike ride...

He is very fit! But I guess I will just have to see what happens. We are just going to be friends, but I hope something happens possibly. I dunno... oh well ..thanks guys!
