Hello and happy new year everyone!!!
I'm very excited to be joining this community and hopefully getting motivation from others going through the same experience.
So let me tell you a little about myself, I'm 20 years old and have always been a bit "big boned", (I'm 5'6' and I've weight anywhere between 145-190lbs). Last year was particularly stressful for me, and being an emotional eater I ballooned up to 186lbs, which is my starting weight for this plan.
Since I've tried a whole bunch of diets before and they've all yo-yo-ed back eventually, I"m trying something else this time...this is my plan:
1. Lose 5lbs a month the year...this means my final goal weight is 126lbs, that might be a bit to skinny, but we'll see how I feel as i approach this goal.
2. Do yoga every weekday morning before going to school. I've done this for this entire week and it's actually helped me with the pain I have in my back from standing at work. (I work in a book store, so there's really no sitting down for an 8 hour shift)
3. Try to fit in cardio into my schedule at 3 times a week.
4. Switch my coffee habits to green tea! Much healthier!
5. In terms of eating, restricting certain items has always failed and caused a re-bound in the worst ways. So this time nothing is off the table, it's just the portions that are getting smaller. If i'm craving chocolate or anything I will have a bit
.
6. Log my progress: in an food journal (with calorie counts if possible), on this forum and through pictures and measurements.
7. Do not punish myself or get discouraged if I slip up, I will treat each day as a new and separate opportunity to reach my goals.
So it's been a week since i started this plan and the scale already says 3lbs less. I know there will be set backs along the way but that should not take my eyes of the goal.
EVERYONE STARTING A PLAN IN 2008, LETS HELP EACH OTHER OUT!
