Hi i`m new to this,My names roach.I started the Optifast June 11 and have so far went from 423.8 down to 412.4 in just one week.I have cheated some, lol
Yes i`m bad,tho I found out a can of tuna is only 55 calories and salmon is 80 calories plus a lrg hard boilded egg is 76 calories.I`m doing the Optifast 900 thats 4 shakes a day.I have tried that but find that i`m craving solid food and thats why i have cheated,I`m still hungry most of the time and need advice on how to stop my cravngs for solid food.My doc has yelled at me for the egg and tuna,One can and one egg Nightly seems to get me thru it plus I did lose 11.4 pounds while doing this and thats without excercise. Now someone told me if you`re hungry drink lots of water, diet pop etc,ok I drink water ,pop use crystal lite etc,Now I find i`m no Longer thirsty but i`m still hungry, lol
any ideas on how to get over this.
Any Help would be wonderful Thanks
BTW I`m from Northern Ontario Canada

I don't really know a lot about that program, but from what it sounds like, I am personally not a fan. I do wish you luck and keep us posted on how things are going for you! :)

I'm with Pebbles I'm not a fan of those types of diets... but something that did catch my eye.. if you're drinking lots of diet sodas.. there've been lots of documented studies that say diet sodas can contribute to weight gain... for a variety of reasons - one ofthem being it makes a person crave more... There's nothing good for you about diet sodas - so if I were you (and I'm not -I could never do a liquid diet - I like real food) I'd ditch the diet sodas and drink water only.

but logic tells me - if you're hungry -eat something...

Welcome and good luck Roach!

Congratulations Roach on the decision to do what it takes to get healthy. As far as the can of tuna goes, if there is a nutritionist in your program discuss that with them. One can of tuna could do wonders for you mentally, not add that much to the calories and, for a guy your size, work well in the program (add add protein). I would be surprised it they would not at least discuss it. Also, I just had a can of albacore tuna at lunch and it was about 200 calories. Was yours one of those small single serving size cans Roach? Or, perhaps our tuna are bigger in Texas, eh? (no we don't say "eh" in Texas)

EDIT: Also, Roach, a good bet is your appetite pretty much quickly and completely dissapears on Optifast.

Lord, I am glad no one ever called me Roach BTW. :)
