Hey everyone!
Been poking around here and the info seems rather helpful so might as well join!
Myself:
male, 36, 6', 190lbs
Life-long vegetarian (Indian vegetarian diet, mainly) and have always been rather rather slim until about age 30.
Now I'd like to trim down some fat from the waist and face, and work some muscle into my neck as well. Strangely, the neck is one are where it seems some people just have it naturally thick while others have it rather skinny.
I've been working out at my $250 home gym and using whey protein, and seeing some pretty good results actually. This semester I'm taking weight training classes at the local community college (only $26 for 2 workouts per week, from january til may) ... pretty good deal if you ask me.
I wanted to clarify/ask if, for the sake of toning and mild weight(muscle) gain, you would suggest more reps rather than heavier weights w/less reps? What is a good number of reps with this goal in mind? I am thinking 12-15.
Aside from weight training, I do mountain biking at least once a week (often a pretty good cardio) and try to get some running in. There's just something about cardio workouts that seems to do to a body what an oil change does for a car. The blood seems to flow better; thinking clearer; remembering better; sex drive up. Doesnt it seem that way? The more it hurts, the better the high.
OK enough ranting. See you in the forums!
