New to this!!!

Hello I'm 22 years old and 80 pounds over weight, I'm extremely unhappy and have tried so many things that haven't worked. I'm desperate to lose this weight so I can live a long happy life, any advice or motivation would be great! Thanks!!
 
Looks like you took the first step...as you read the posts, you will find the common thread....calories in vs. calories burned..... and take it easy...1-2 lbs a week is a great accomplishment.

BTW 43 yo with nagging weight issues.... you are not alone!
 
Well I started the gym today, I did better ten I have in like 3 years! I'm excited! And I've eaten good so far today. Go me!
 
Hey Whitney, welcome to this site. Joining a gym is a great first step. I would always make excuses and tell myself that I would join a gym when I lost more weight (from exercising at home), lol but I would never lose enough to even feel comfortable going. What are you currently doing to lose weight? I find keeping a food journal keeps me accountable. Keep exercising and you will begin to adjust to a new way of being and eating. Everything takes time so hang in there and don't give up. You can do it!:party:

Sounds like you're off to a great start! I'm having a great day too, went for a huge 2 hour walk with hubby and then spent an hour on the Wii Fit. Love playing tennis in my living room lol. I'm too shy to get to the gym yet... too many bouncy bits!
