Good evening. I am new to this site and wanted to introduce myself. I have recently decided to start taking my health and weightloss seriously. I found this site and have to say that I was inspired by the comments, results, testimonials, and pics posted by many of you. I was my heaviest around Christmas at 270lbs. For the last 2 weeks I have started eating better (now consuming 1500 calories daily) and am working out for about an hour and a half every day (1 hour elipitical and 30 minutes weight training). I am pleased to say that I am now down to 253 lbs in about 2.5 weeks. My goal is 180 lbs and to tone up as well. I have taken some before pics that I will post half-way to my goal as I hope that my progress might inspire someone in the future as many of you have inspired me. Thanks again to all and good luck to all!

Sounds like you're on track, I'm in the same shoes. Best of luck with your loss! Welcome to the forum!

Hey Cetpar welcome aboard. Sounds like you've made a great start to your regime. All the very best with the rest of it! Im sure you'll find lots of encouragement to keep you motivated here! :)

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you're off to a very solid start. Make sure you're not overdoing it. For now I'm sure you're find but eventually you might want to start backing off the weights a bit in terms of frequency. Low calories, lots of cardio, plus weights every single day is a recipe for beating yourself up pretty good.

1500 calories is quite low for someone your size. Sure, it will lead to quick weight loss. As you near a more optimal weight though, such drastic caloric cuts will yield greater chances of muscle loss, which obviously you don't want.

Also, cutting down that low to start leaves you not much room to 'wiggle' once your weight loss plateaus, which it will.

Just some friendly words of caution.

I highly suggest reading through the stickies if you haven't already.

Best to you and keep up the great work!
