new to this please help

I had a baby 9 mnths ago. lost 45 lbs on a crazy 800 cal./day diet. still need 25 lbs to go. I read that eating 5-6 meals a day with excercise will do the trick. I am going to start eating 1400 cal/day. 30/50/20 I am having trouble putting my food log together because I feel it is just an enourmouse amount of food. I get frustrated because when I try to add in some veggies I am going over my carbs. Am I doing this wrong?

It really isn't that much food. You were starving yourself before. If you spread those 1400 cals over 5-6 meals/day, you will be fine. You also must exercise.

Even 1400 calories may not be enough. Do you know what your BMR is (Base Metabolic Rate)? If not, you need to calculate it - there are plenty of online calculators you can use. Once you know how many calories you need to survive based on your activity levels etc. you can then subtract 500 from that number and work out your diet accordingly. This will create a calorie deficit and should result in continuing weight loss.

I would also recommend you search for posts by Trainer Lynn and make sure you are doing what she suggests in her 5 tips for weight loss.

Best of luck - you should find all the information you need here and get tonnes of support too :)

And turn that 30/50/20 into 30/35/35 fat/carb/protein. Veggies are good because they are low in calories (most anyways). Try to eat protein at every meal also.

Keep in mind that the carbs from most veggies (excluding carrots and peas.. etc) come from fiber, which can't be digested to they're negligable.

thanks for all the help

ok According to the BMR calc. online my BMR average is 1426. I am trying to eat 1400 cal but I find that i have to force myself to eat all the food. it is just a bit scary for me because I feel that I am going to blow up.
