New to this forum, not healthy living

I am a 30 year old man, in search of the fountain of youth. It resides in a healthy lifestyle, one I have not lived for too long.

Stats:

Height: 5'7"
Weight: 152.4 lbs
Waist: 32.5"
BMI: 17.0%

Currently, I have very specific goals, which are outlined in one sentence:

Lose as many inches off my waist as possible in the next 10 weeks.

I am NOT taking any supplements, only mulitvitamins and a nutrient shake with natural protein.

Men have obtained the physique I want for eons, long before supplements, and I plan on
doing the same. Naturally, I am beset of achieving this.

I am here to garner as much information as possible. My active routines include lifting and running. I love both as much equally as much. I know that a "six-pack is sculpted in the kitchen," hence I hope to use all I learn here to aid my ultimate goal: Be an Adonis.

I really agree with you regarding the supplements and diet pills etc. Weight loss is about eating less than you need. It is very simply done through new habits. Getting new habits into your life will do the work for you. You can do it.

One caution. We men think that we need to work it off (running, lifting...). It is in our nature. 70 - 80 % of weight loss is done by eating right. These are facts. As much as we intellectually "know" that eating is the real effort, we still emphasize the gym. Nothing wrong with the gym and exercise (I do it everyday myself), but it is smaller part of the equation. Especially for a guy like you that is already doing that and really enjoying.

Let me know how it is going.

Thanks dobner.

I have been an avid reader of labels, avoider of deep fried foods, and a lover of salads since I was twelve years old.

Today my concern is keeping my glucose levels optimum, portions acceptable, and meals consistent.

Sounds great. Just make sure that you eat below your daily calorie usage. A guy your age needs 2,600 to 2,800 for calorie balance. You want to stay way below thought for weight loss. Labels, glucose, protein .....are all secondary compared to calorie totals per day.
