I'm new here! Thanks for whoever set this up, looks like just what I'm looking for! I started a diet and exercise program back in June 2011 and so far, I'm pleased to say, I've lost 57 pounds. I've still got 60 pounds to go to get to my goal weight (150). I've never been to any weight loss "program" and I'm not exactly sure how this site works, but reading the posts in and of itself gives me motivation. My program is simple...low carbs, no sweets (my downfall), rarely eat after 6:00pm and 1 hr of elipitcal every day. I weigh only 1 time per month (1st of the month). It may not be the "best program", but so far it's working for me. I am starting to see a slight slowdown in the weight loss though...and that's the real motivation to look for success stories and keep me focused. Looking for any guidance out there on how to "stay with it"!

Hey

You say your starting to see a slight slowdown in the weight loss though. Hitting a Plataea during fat loss is common. There are a couple of things that are most likely to contribute to it, i'll just list the solutions here real quick and they should help massively.

(1) Not eating within 30 mins of waking. (if this is a struggle you can have a low carb 30g protein shake) As long as you have at least 30g of protein for breakfast you will be cool

(2) Not eating enough protein at meals. The golden rule is at least 20g of protein at every meal.

(3) Not drinking enough water. Aim for 2 - 3 litres per day.

Hope this helps!!!!!

Also...

The number of mitochondria in your muscle tissue largely determines your rate of sustained fat loss. So targeted exercise, just 20 minutes per week, will often double fat loss thats plateaued.

Let me know how you get on
