New to this forum, but not to the difficulty of weight loss

Hello Weight-Loss Forum Community,

My name is Adana and I am a 51 year old mother of two. Growing up I was always extremely thin, not through any effort on my side, it was just my body type. However, as I aged my body didn't burn the 'crap' food I ate as well as it use to and the number on my scale started to increase steadily. I am now 150 pounds and a size 14. (the biggest I have ever been)
I am try my best to make healthy choices and I am also writing about my struggle so other women know they are not alone. I am a writer for Prevention Magazine.
These are my articles/journal entries:

Welcome Adana!

I am 44, so we are close in age. When did you notice your metabolism changing? Honestly I have eaten so bad for so long, and yo-yo'd for so long I don't know when or if mine has radically changed! I know I lose slower, but I still lose when I set my mind to it. I do notice I settle for a higher and higher base weight, meaning I start to cheat and gain back before I make my goals. That's just been in the last four years. When I was 37 I got down to 125. These days I get discouraged, or maybe just depressed and lose motivation.

I'm glad you are here, and I'll read your articles when things slow down a little at work! Keep us posted!

Colleen
