I am one of probably a million people who will visit today in the resolution of losing that excess weight in the new year. I have 140 lbs to lose, and I know how to eat right, but I fail to exercise, which creates the vicious cycle. You probably know exactly what I am talking about.

I just wanted to say I'm glad to be here, and I hope to meet some friends on this site who can help me, and to whom I can be helpful. I am hoping the support of friends in similar situations will encourage me further on this journey that I've started a hundred times!

Happy New Year!

Hi Sherry! Welcome to our little crew of weight-loss buddies! :) I've only been here a short while, but I hope that you find the same support and comfort in all the postings and advice on these boards that I have!

And just remember.. think of this as your last start on this weight-loss journey, because this time with our help you can finish it!!

Hi! Glad you found us! I agree w Newleaf..you have to look at this w/ a positive attitude!! I also really urge you to find a diet you like that you can stay on for the rest of your life! I think even the word "diet" brings negative thinking. I am a big fan of the 1200 cal LIFESTYLE change, lol. I've done real well on it.

You could start a diary, we keep track of our cals' and excersize there and helps us to keep tabs on you :)

Good luck this year, you can succeed!!

Where are you?

So, Sherri, where are you? You haven't posted and we need to know if you are still with us. It's baby steps and don't quit. You can do it. We're in this together.:D

your so right sherry! i think a lot of people have come around here since the new year with big plans for their new years resolutions. if only they would just stick around the rest of the year after that so we could see their progress ;)

It is very glad to meet you sherry. I hope you succeed in your 140lb loss. I know you will. Maybe we can chat sometime. cherylhop27@yahoo.com

Hi Sherry. Hope you are still with us. I agree with NewBride. Thinking in terms of dieting is really setting yourself up for failure. You've got to think in terms of a new lifestyle. I think it's Richard Simmons that talks about the word "dieting". We don't want to die we want to live so instead of "die"ting try living. I know it seems overwhelming. I started off with 130 pounds to lose. Since getting that below 100 it doesn't seem as hard. It was rough, but it was worth it and since I focused more on healthy living than just numbers I find that it's easier now. I naturally eat less and am more active. I still have a long way to go and alot of improvements to make but I'm on my way and I'm sure you will be too.
