New to the Forums! (And up for suggestion)

Hello Everyone,

I registered about 5 months ago, but this is my first thread/post.

I am 22 years old. I moved to The United States 14 months ago, in which I haven't moved much (I used to walk at least 30 minutes a day), and used to eat lots of fruits and veggies. I have been eating very unhealthy lately, and in just 14 months I gained 15 pounds.. I am only 5"2 and you can easily see all the weight on my belly and thighs :(..

What makes it hard is that my husband is trying to gain weight and every time we share a meal or a snack in front of the TV, I end up loading on calories... Apparently, if I am trying to lose weight and he is trying to gain weight, I/He should cook different meals for both of us, I guess.. Which doesn't sound practical at all, considering the two of us have a tight schedule...

I am joining the forums for support in my weight loss journey, and mainly to maintain a healthy life style and nutrition. I am not looking for a diet that helps me temporarily lose weight, I want the weight off for life through a PRACTICAL easy-to-follow healthy eating long-term plan.

I have not started any diet plan yet, so I am up for suggestions. Meal plans in weeks also would be GREAT!!

This time I'm sticking around and very determined to gain back my healthy slim 'good-looking' body...

Thank you for reading,
Farasha :Angel_anim:

Good luck to you in losing weight and to your DH in gaining weight!

You two remind me of myself and my DH. I weighed 126 and was 5"3 3/4' tall when we got married. My DH was 6"2' and weighed right around 160. He was used to eating bologna sandwiches and fast foods and lots of cakes, cookies, and candy. I was a potato, beans, and cornbread person, who loved apples & bananas. I came from a big family, by DH was an only child. Most of the time my apples came from me climbing a tree out side and if I got a bananas it was from searching the smell. Mom had to hide bananas for dad's lunch bucket when he worked in the mines.

Try using portion size and give your DH husband and extra portion. Share fruit snacks or popcorn. Don't cut out food out all together, just cut back and add exercise!

Welcome to the WLF and keep us up to date with your goal!:seeya:
