New to the Forum!

Hey everyone,
I'm new on here, and just read through the stickys for some quick advice. Maybe some of you could help steer me to the right sections for what I need. But first, some background:

I'm a 24 year old husband and father to a lively 14 month old little girl who I absolutely love. I'm graduating from college here in two weeks, and will begin working as a paralegal so I'll be sitting down most of the day. I really want to start developing good habits now in order to be healthy for years to come.

Currently, I'm 5'10 and hovering at 140 lbs. I wear a 29x32 jeans, and men's small-medium shirts. I am in decent physical shape, in that I take good care of my health and hygiene, but I'd like to get in GREAT shape. Right now, it feels like I have very little upper body strength, and next to no real size. That is obviously something I'd like to change. Also, it seems like most of what body fat I have is located at my waist and hips, whereas none seems to stick anywhere else. I don't want to necessarily lose any weight, but replace it with muscle.

Ideally, I'd like to get around 150-160 of tight, toned muscle.

I don't have any real equipment at home except for a pair of 20 lb. dumbbells and a pull up bar. I've looked into a number of programs already like P90X and wanted to get some solid feedback from some people who can potentially help me get started here.

Thanks for any help in advance!

Yes, you're skinny fat. 140# with a 29" waist is scrawny. P90X uses bodyweight exercises with dumbbells to get you ripped. You can do it. Go to the section on bodyweight exercises, propose a program and someone will critique it. Pullups, pushups, lunges, crunches, squats, all are done with no equipment. If you add a bench, you add a lot more options (bench press, bent over rows, etc.). Good luck.
