My fiancee who is a member (heathercb04) has nothing but nice things to say about this place, so I am going to give it a go. I've never really been on a weight loss forum before so bear with me. I hope I'm not the only guy on here.

My name is Dan, I'm 26 years old, 6'3" and somewhere between 300-330 lbs. (Will know exactly when my shiny new scale arrives on Wednesday.) I've noticed in the past year that I'm feeling quite tubby so I'm going to try to cut some some weight, with my ultimate goal of hitting 270-ish lbs. in the long run.

I have an aversion to the gym which I am just now trying to overcome. The reason for this is because all my life I've been heavy but in good to great shape. I played competitive sports for about 15 years, with rugby in college being my last serious sport, and the gym BORES me to tears. I've stopped playing sports so my 300 lbs. of mostly muscle melted into 300 lbs. of mostly goo.

I've started going to the gym/pool this week and I figure any support I can get/offer will be good karma for me.

Hey there sexy! ;)

Welcome to the forum.

It's fun to type a reply to your entry when you're sitting right behind me in the same room. :smilielol5:

Sooooo, I got my scale and the news is not so good. My true weight is actually 363 lbs. which is far more than I thought. I had me at around 320 lbs. in my head. There is officially much work to be done.

Getting back on the horse

Well, I was doing quite well for a month or two, I lost a quick 11-13 lbs. , and then summer caught up to me. It was pretty hectic, so I stopped going to the gym. Thankfully, I still ate pretty well, so I only gained back about 5 or 6 lbs.

Going to reboot my exercise plan this evening after work, so wish me luck.

If the gym bores you to death why not try a calorie deficit through eating less calories then you need to lose weight at first?
