Hi Everyone! I have been reading this forum for awhile now but I decided it would really help me to join. Everyone here is so positive and motivational.

I'm Courtney, I'm 21 and I live in California. I have been overweight as long as I can remember. School was always hell for me, shopping, boyfriends. ugh. Forget it. But I did find a nice guy who liked me for me and we have been together for four and a half years and now we are engaged to be married in Summer/Fall of 2008. And I decided that I do not want to be a fat bride!(hence my user name)

I started my lifestyle changes this past Tuesday at a weigh in of 257.5 lbs. I know I have a long way to go but I know I can do this.

Hope to learn more about everyone else here as well.

Courtney:)

Hey Courtney, Congratulations on the wedding plans, that is a huge reason to shed the pounds!! i am with you, after my first baby i weighed 240, then got down to 185 "where i was actully pretty content" than got pregnant again and gained 60 pounds, well a year after my son is born and now im 196, i started new years day, and have actully lost 7 pounds since then, i started at 203 and i want to be 160!! What is your goal weight we can get there together!! What are your eating and working out habits?? You can do this, and if you need some motivation let me know, You are gonna be one HOTT bride!!! Kalie

I have started slowly. I cut out soda and I am trying to drink more water and decaf tea. I also have stopped eatting white bread and white rice. I have heard bad things about that stuff. So I bought whole grain and whole wheat bread. I have been trying to eat fruit or vegetables whenever I am hungry or need a snack and I have been eating when I am hungry and not when I am just bored(big problem for me).

I have collected(lol) a few exercise items over the past few months and now in my garage I have a Tredmill, exercise bike, an ab doer, a mini stair stepper, and a weight machine that doesnt really work except the shoulder exercises. I also have the steps for Step Aerobics and a Mat for floor work. You would think I would be in shape already but its just having the motivation to go out there and do it. I have been trying to do aerobic for 25 mins and then something else for 10. I plan to up it all as I get more fit.

Slow and steady wins the race hun! Remember that!

Good luck, you can do it!

Let me know if you have any questions :)
