New to the forum and looking to get fit !!

Hi all,

this looks to be a great forum for advice on getting as fit and strong as I can, as quickly as I can,

I race off road bikes (enduro and cross country) in sunny South Africa and have just been given a sponsored ride for an up coming extreme enduro in the mountain kingdom of lesotho in mid November, its a gruelling 3 day event and I need to get as fit as possible in the short time I have,

I am in decent shape, but not nearly fit enough for the race, I plan on doing cardio at the gym 3 to 4 days a week (for an hour and a half), maybe crossfit too, mountain biking for 3 to 4 hours one day and riding my motorcycle one day,

Any other suggestions ?

from what I understand about biking, you need a really strong core and upper body strength, so that should be your main focus ... if you race competitively you are probably already in decent shape (even if you don't think you are). At any rate, I would really work on core exercises ... you can get a lot of your strengthening done by also working your core. Do you have anyone that can advise you on that? There are a ton of core exercises on our main website, if you are looking for some suggestions.
