Hello, I am new to this site. I am always hesitant to join these types of sites because I have always believed that my problems, are just that my problems. I never felt that I should bother other people my with my own problems. However I have come to realize that there may not be any other way for me to loose this weight without assistance from others.
I am 39 years old, 5ft 8in and weight about 248lbs. I suffer from Ankylosing Spondylitis as well as ADHD. I have tried going to the gym, but my ADHD makes it very difficult. I have bought exercise equipment but the same thing. I know to some people these issues will sound like excuses but unless you live with ADHD it is difficult to understand the challenges we face.
I really want to loose weight. I want to loose 50lbs before I turn 40. That is 5 months from now. That means I need to loose 10lbs a month. I need help trying to figure out what to do.
My son and I are going to start a couch to 5k program on Monday July 1st. This program is for me, he is in excellent condition for his age and height so this will be for me.
I am trying to curb my eating but I have a stressfull job and I am an emotional eater and this does not make it any easier.
I need help, advice, tips suggestion, coaching, anything to help me loose this weight. I have looked at numerous websites and they all say I need around 2500 calories or so to loose weight. This is based on running 3 days a week for the couch to 5k program. However I am not sure what items are best to eat for that 2500 calories.
Here is what I came up with for breakfast.
Carnation Instant Breakfast shake with 1% milk. - 230 calories
1 hard boiled egg - 78 calories
1 Banana - 105 Calories
Morning Snack - Yogurt - 130 calories
That is a total of 515 calories or so for breakfast and mid morning snack. Now for lunch mid afternoon snack, dinner etc. We tend to eat a lot of pasta and chicken since my wife does not eat any red meats or pork.
Again I am looking for not only help with the meals, but overall help loosing weight. how do other people who have ADHD do it. How do you stay focused when your brain is working against you....How do you exercise when you brain works against you making it impossible to focus.
Please help...thanks
