Hello all. I hope this is a start to a new friendship and support from others in the like state of mind. My name is Chris. I live in Rapid City, SD. I am a geek at heart but love getting out.
About a yr ago, April of 2010 i was tired on hurting and not sleeping well. I was 356 lbs and was on my way to a heart attack. I decided to start eating better. I first started using ediets.com to give me a diet plans with glycemic index diet. During the first several months it was hard. Then it became easier and easier. I eventually started my own plan and stayed with lean meats, vegetables, not many processed foods.
Well flash forward to this point. Today i weighed in and now i am 185. So i went from 356 to 185. I happy with results, and dont want to lose anymore. I want to maintain and keep steady and keep healthy. I typically eat whole grain breads, oatmeal, 90/10 beef. Chicken, fish, salads, etc...Im confident my diet seems stable.
My concern follow with this. I eat roughly 1600-1800 calories a day. Im not starving often and i dont feel need to eat alot. I do tend to chew sugar free gum and i do love my coffee with sugar free syrup sometimes. I want to increase my daily cal intake and level off my weight lose. MY concern is this. I did lose another 1.5lbs this week. I do work out 1 hr a day with crunch, elipitical, free weights and etc 5 times a week. I do allow myself a sushi day once every two weeks. If i lose weight only 1.5 eating what i normally do, will going to 2000-2700 which most websites suggest i eat cause me to get much larger? Wont i put on the weight like crazy? Or is it that my body is in starvation mode which i have read about and holding hard to the fat reserves that i do have left? I know its a mental game but i worry breaking higher cals since it may cause me to sky rocket. Well there is my rant and my opening. Sorry it was so long. Hope to talk to others soon.
