A little background information. 27 year old Male 6'2" 225lbs

I'm not sure I am going about losing weight correctly as I have never had to do it before. I played sports all my life but have been slowly gaining weight the last several years. A month ago I weighed in at 235lbs and went on a strict diet around 1200 calories a day.

Typical Day:

Meal 1: 3 egg whites, Non fat Cheese, Peppers, Non fat Yogurt

Meal 2: Around 1 can Tuna in water with mustard (Either in a salad or on wheat bread) Use non fat dressing on salad

Cardio: Running for 20-30 minutes at a 9 min mile pace (6x a week)

Meal 3: 1 Boneless Skinless chicken breast (cooked in nonstick pan with no oil), broccoli, green beans

Snacks: 1-2 a day (Apple, nonfat yogurt, orange, or a rare serving of hot fries 135 cal 35 fat)

Drinks: Water only but do drink alcohol 2x a week (Miller 64 or Vodka and Water)

I know the drinking doesn't help but it is not something I am willing to part with at this time. This worked for the first month as I lost 10lbs but now I seem to be staying around the 225 mark. I don't seem to have a problem maintaining this diet, running is tough at times but I get through it. Will this continue to work in MONTH 2? Or should I change something?

Any Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated THANKS!

I really doubt you are only eating that and not losing weight. You must be having other things, like to the weekends or when you go out with friends.

You don't want to part with the alcohol? Better get used to not losing body fat then.

I am pretty stict to the meals I listed. Maybe once every 2 weeks I have a cheat day but I still don't go overboard. To clarify I am losing weight (Started on August 11th at 235lbs) now I weigh 225lbs. The last week and a half I haven't lost though so I didn't know if I was doing something wrong that was having a negatvie effect on my metablolism.

Nothing to do with having a negative effect on your metabolism. What are your exact portion sizes to the foods you eat?

Low fat yoghurt will most likely have a crap load of sugar, and your low fat dressing will have carbs. Wheat bread- 1 or 2? If you have the salad what is in it?

Again, get rid of the alcohol.

I still stand by what I said earlier. You are having an excess calorie intake hence you are gaining weight, unless you are doing resistance training? Then it could be lean muscle mass.
