Hi all

I've decided to join this forum as last night I agreed to go to Weight Watchers with my partner.

I've always been a large person but when I was weighed last night I was 23st 6....or 322 pounds...or 146 kilograms.

I've never been too sure what has always made me big...I mean I dont excersize much but I dont just sit on my behind all day. I dont eat lots of unhealthy foods nor do do I eat several times a day.

I suppose the problem has always been Coca Cola...I near enough live on the stuff!

Well anyway, I'll go start posting!

Welcome to the forum. I am English too. I have lost 12 stone coming from 21 stone down to 9 stone through exercise and healthy eating.

You dont need me to tell you that Coca cola is loaded in calories and chemicals. I think that you will find that you will spend 2 points every time that you have a can of coca cola. In this weather - that could add up to quite a lot of points during the day.

Obviously you could switch to diet coke - but you would be a lot better off switching to water with maybe the odd diet coke.

I have actually just announced that people should try to drink water in a challenge that I am running (Summer Shake Up). You would be more than welcome to join in. Challenges can be quite a good way of gaining structure and motivation for your weight loss project and can be a great way of making friends and building a support network.

Either way - I wish you luck in your weight loss project.

Best wishes
Margaret

hi, thanks for the welcome

Yes, cans do indeed work out to 2 points. Although I make matters worse by drinking it in 500ml bottle...which is somewhere between 2.5 - 3 points. I generally have 3 bottles during my working day plus I can drink upto 1 litre of the stuff at home in the evening.

It is probably the main thing I will ensure to focus on, the lack of coke in my diet. I have been buying flavoured water instead and so far its going well...I daresay I will have a sugar craving soon and fall off the wagon, but even going down to just a single bottle a day would be a good start.

I will take a look at your challenge...as I said above, I've gone on to drinking just water so it should be a good start for me

Fruit can help a lot with sugar cravings as can sugar free jellies.

A girl doesnt get to be 21stone without knowing a thing or two about how compelling sugar cravings can be!!!
