hello everyone i'm new to this site.

I would like to loose about 30 lbs, before Feb 08 being that i'm going to be in a wedding in april and 30 is my 1st little goal and then i want to loose another 30 after that!

I would love the support and i want to give support!
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!:Angel_anim:

start yourself a diary -it's a great way to get support as you lose weight...

Luck isn't needed - paying attention is what will give you the results you want :)

yes, i know thats what my mom said too. As long as its like 20 lbs. because to the wedding is in april and i just want to be 30 lbs lighter.

The reason i gave my self that date is so i can push my self, if it dont happen then thats ok as long as i'm getting there!

I have no problem with aiming and shooting high in terms of goal creation.

Hell, I've even set goals for myself that I know are unrealistic.... it's not something I recommend everyone do though.

Most I encounter around here would have a hard time accepting the fact they didn't reach the goal they set out to achieve, even if said goal wasn't realistic.

If you can manage that psychologically-speaking though, have at it!

I'd base progress on inches opposed to lbs though, personally speaking.

why 30lbs though - you looking to be under 200?

that's really just another number... inches and how your dress fits and how you feel in your dress should be more important...

have you picked out your dress yet?

yeah i have my dress on order its coming in Feb. i'm in the wedding. I know that i can do this, i have lost 40 lbs in 3 months before when i did weight watchers so i know it can be done!
I had my baby in Jan and most of it is from being prego. I want to loose 30 b/c i know what i look like being less, i have really big boobs and nice legs, its just my belly and face that i need to loose everything else i love!

If it dont happen then my Final goal will be at least 50 lighter by the summer, that plenty time!:)

40 lbs in 3 months is a lot different than 30 lbs in 1.

And there's something to be said for this short-term way of thinking. Trust me, I understand your desire to lose for this special event.

But if you didn't abide by this short-term mentality, you would have found a way to maintain the weight you loss originally, IMO.

*Edit -- sorry, missed that part where you had a baby.... that makes a difference. There still can be said something about short-term thinking though.

yes i know, i should have put it different! i was meaning feb. 2008.....its all good as long i loose the weight i'm HAPPY!

30 pounds in two months is still a lot of weight. You'll need to lose almost 4 pounds per week to lose that much.

Good luck but don't get too discouraged if you just can't do it. My weight loss goals were not nearly so lofty and I've had to push back my goal date several times. I was only hoping to lose 2 pounds per week, not four.

I wish you well and congrats on your little one.

thanks, yeah i know, like i said before if i dont make that goal then thats ok! as long as i'm not gaining!!:blush5:

Hi Amber

Congrats on the baby!!!

I think the most important thing for us newbies is to try to stay realistic so we dont get discouraged and do what is healthy. One pound at a time. I noticed you said you want to do 30 by feb, but the wedding isnt till April, do you intend to buy the dress to fit in Feb and then have it taken in...its easier to alter down

You visited my diary and said you were going to do the cabbage soup diet just to jump start. I have thought of that too, but i also remember trying it before and the cabbage soup gets "old"....

I want to focus not only on my eating but on burngin calories as well. Do you have a plan for walking or exercising?

Karebare..

thank you. yes i do a work out tape and i walk on the treadmill as well. yeah it does get old, but what i have been doing is sometimes just eating the cabbage plain, i know its not that good but only about one cup or so. But this is just a jump start. I have also done the slim fast shakes, i make it in the blender with ice its so good well that another way. and it does work.

when i'm not on nothing i just was healthy food. For breakfast oatmeal, one snack, then lunch may like a turkey sanwhich or soup and a snack later then dinner grilled or backed with veggies and maybe one more snack.

yes, i was just saying that so if i didnt make it to that then i have more time to try to get there! and if i make it then i set another goal!

the dress is in the size i wear now, so i'm hoping to get it taken in!!!
