Hello there,

I'm Christi, a 26 year old who has struggled with weight and body image my whole life. When I came across this forum last night, I thought to myself that it seemed like a very supportive network of people who struggle just like me. I look forward to reading all the great advise, and gaining confidence from all the great weight loss successes that I'm sure I'll find here. That's me :)

might i ask what your goals are??? its great that you've decided to make a change... i just joined this forum yesterday but everyone has been really friendly... hopefully you will feel the same! good luck with everything!!!

My goal is to get down to 135lbs from 224lbs. I know it won't happen as fast as I would like so I hope to find encouragement along the way to accept my wiggly bits until I can get rid of them :) How about yourself???

right now i am fluctuating at around 200 pounds... i would like to get down to 140 and see how i like it... my sister is 130... skinny biatch... jk jk lol... we are the same height... soo i am constantly judging what i want based on her body... if that makes sense...lol... i think i would rather be a little curvier than her... soo 140 is my plan!!!

soo what are you doing to make the change??? ... tweaking your diet??? exercising???
 
Hmmm. I joined Curves which I am enjoying, and trying to eat healthier. I'm also trying to be positive and patient- which I am not so great at.

What are you doing to make the changes you're striving for?
 
everyday i would like to:

-3 miles WATP DVD
-beginners pilates DVD (about 10-15 min)
-stretching
-free weights
-10 minutes mini-stepper

sounds like alot but it isnt too bad... i covered the last 3 this morning... but i wasnt able to do any of my DVD workouts because it seems i have lost one and overly-scratched the othe...blah...

dietwise:

just trying to be more conscious about it... and of course at least 8 glasses of water a day... which isnt a problem!!!
 
Hi Christi..nice to meet you...welcome to the forum!!! Yeah it does seem like i'll take a while to just get out of the 200's to me ...i have been there so long i wouldnt even know how to act once i reach 199.9 LMAO!!!! GOod luck on your weight loss journey :)

I wish you all the luck. You sound like you have found a place to find support, like all of us, this journey is difficult but rewarding.

Thank you Brian for the advise. I am looking forward to having a look at all the recipes :) I browsed through them quickly the other day. It looks like there are a lot of great ones.

You might want to check out the sticky threads ... they usually advise peeps to do this ...

also we have a 200 club thread which is very positive and helpful .. you might want to join us ...we have a lot of fun on the thread ...

and you might wants to start a diary ...

I thought I was doing alright this weekend. We went out for dinner with my sister and her husband and I ordered a ceasar salad thinking that would be a healthier choice. Weirdly enough on Saturday morning my husband turned on Marketplace and they were reporting outside the same restaurant chain we were at about how decieving restaurant's healthy choice options actually are. Turns out the salad I had was pretty darn close to my entire daily calorie intake. Yikes :eek: I suppose I have to be SUPER aware if I want to acheive my goal. Hehehehe. Anyways, hope you are feeling better and good luck on your term paper.

That is SOO strange... and of course right after you eat there they decide to make the report! lol... ive GOT to get off here and do that report NOW... lol
