Hey, My name is Chrissy. I am 28 years old and have two kids. I am now done having kids and still trying to loose the baby weight. I am 5'4" and weight 184. I am a nursing student and have a lot of time where I am studying and just sitting. This summer I am out of school and plan to use this time to get active. I want to loose about 44lbs. I have always had the pear shaped appearance so I hold a lot of weight in my lower half... but now I can see how I have gained in my face arms and tummy. I have always had flat tummy till now. I have not been able to get it back since last pregnancy (three years ago). I am hoping that getting on here with others with the same problem it will help with my motivation. My problem is I get bummed with no results and give up. OR the world comes in between my diet (not enough time for dinner = junk food, no activity because of days and nights studying, kids talking into going for pizza and it looks so good how do I say no) .

I've always found that focusing really hard for the first week and then being successful in losing weight relatively quickly has always helped. I've seen that I CAN lose weight so I'm more motivated to want to. As for keeping motivated to go the gym, the best thing I can recommend is to get into a habit so that you'll hate yourself if you miss it! Good luck!!

Hey Chrissy!! Welcome to the site.

So motivation is your problem?? This place is great for motivation, you will learn a lot on here. Unfortunately, sometimes it comes down to YOU. Motivation comes from within. If you cant motivate yourself then no one will.

Make sure you have a strong plan to put yourself in a position to succeed. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Always remember this is a lifestyle and NOT a diet. It's all about balance.

I wish you the best of luck on your journey. YOU CAN DO THIS!!! I promise you that if you put in the hard work, you will see results and you will feel great.

I will be back to check in and see how things are going.

I agree, planning is key. But you also can't let yourself get down and quit if things don't go exactly the way you want to. Make some small changes first and go from there. Babysteps first.

Since you study a lot, whenever you need a break why not try some bodyweight exercises? Push-ups, body weight squats, etc. You don't need to go to the gym everyday to get in shape.

Best of luck to you!!

Well said Gags. This is why "diets" always fail. People let the smallest bump in the road throw them off their plan. Stay focused and dont dwell on a binge or a piece of cake, or a small gain.

Thanks for all the advice. I now feel guilty if I am not eating right. This forum may have been the best thing for me. There is a lot a of people on here going through the same thing that I am.

Thanks guys..

Chrissy
