Hi,
I'm new here.I just graduated with my bachelor degree in nursing! I'm very excited and proud of myself. Growing up and getting my life started these past few years have been very hard.

In high school, I was a major jock. I was varsity all four years in volleyball, basketball and ran long distance and some field events in track. Since then, I kept up the exercising until I moved back to my home state to pursue nursing. I've gained about to 30 pounds since then. I weighed 105 pounds when I moved to Albuquerque (which was over 3 years ago) and now I weigh 136! I am 5'3". I don't want to be at my old weight, but I would like to get into shape. I have dimples in places I didn't know existed and I have no energy whatsoever. I'm going to start out small and see if I can lose 16 pounds in 3 months.

Any motivation? I hate losing, I don't like to quit, but I fear disappointment. I'm used to the competitive me where I could run 5 miles like it was nothing. I remember running a mile under 6 minutes. Now I'm not sure if I can even run a whole mile without stopping...

Congrats on your career achievements, my step daughter is a Nurse also-it's hard work!
BTW I'm in ABQ too. I too am suddenly carrying an extra 10 lbs, used to run 10Ks and now can't run a mile without stopping to catch my breath. It started when I began teaching, I'm trying to learn how to balance my life to incorporate excercise and healthy eating while working a stressful job. Easier said than done. I find it helps to stay motivated when you have support, which is why I signed up here yesterday. Didn't think I'd find someone in the 505 but nice to know I'm not the only one in the desert trying to get fit again! Good luck with your goals and PM anytime if you need support!!
