New Kid On The Block

Hi everybody. I'm a newbie here and could definately use a little guidance! I'd be ever so grateful to anyone willing to show me the ropes!

I am 31 and have 3 children...a 10 year old son, a 22 month old daughter and an 11 month old daughter. The girls almost killed me...literally! The two back to back pregnancies had me in the hospital for a month after my youngest. I'm still battling severe anemia...my doc did bloodwork last week and my levels were at 10.1. She said that if they drop another point, we're looking at another blood transfusion. (It would be the fourth one since the baby.)

So...fatigue and weakness are the main demons in my life right now. I'm desperate to get the wieght off that I put on with the girls, but sometimes get dizzy just standing up.

I'm in a low place right now...very heavy hearted and grasping wildly for the strength to pull myself up by the bootstraps and get strong so I can be the best mom for my kids.

I'm not gaining weight, just finding it impossible to get it off given my current issues.

I really need a place for motivation, strength, support and advice right now...so here I am! Thank you for having me.

Wow Im so sorry for all your going through. Can you life things? Maby you can try baby lifts. My brother started lifing my 2 year old he lays down and bench presses her 3 times a day and it shows. Its a cheep and easy way to work out.
You can also do the same with your baby on your legs. hold the baby on your legs and up and down she goes. She will think its the best thing in the world.

I hope you gain your strangth back soon.
Good luck

Hi...and thanks for the reply. I can lift things, the other issues working against me are that my body isn't used to carrying this much weight and I've got some serious aches and pains going on. Mostly residual injuries from a car accident way back in 1993. The extra weight has exasperated them severely. My back hips and feet (arthritis in my feet) hurt all of the time so I feel like I am stuck in a vicious cycle with no end in sight. I don't really know what to do to break it.

Usually once I get going there's no stopping me, but I've never been in a rut quite like this. I think I am going to try the "Cabbage Soup Diet" next week to see if I can kick start things and take some pressure off my joints. I'm a vegetarian which, of course, adds a flair of difficulty to my eating plan. I find that I eat too many carbs and not enough protein. It's easy to munch on a (dry) bagel...it takes a while to eat and it fills me up. I know it will take a lot more effort to incorporate more protein than carbs, but I gotta do it!

Yah carbs are evil. Im a pasta freak I love it and its the only thing I can cook. Sometimes i even make my own noodles LOL. I can make just about any kind of pasta Even if I have never done it befor it turns out great.

Isnt it hard getting protein if you dont eat meat?

:) Hello and welcome!
Mommy hood is so much fun and also stressfull and
can take a toll on your body! I am a mommy of 4 :) !
You came to the right place there is awesome support
here along with gr8 tips and recipies. You can do this!
I don't watch carbs as much as fat and calories and pasta
made healthy isn't bad for ya just watch your portion size
actually eating "healthy" carbs before a workout is a gr8
energy source! Hope you ha have a fantastic tuesday!

Yes...trying to get enough protein is an up-hill battle! I know that once I get off the ground, I'll be ok but darn it if it isn't a feat in and of itself!

And Nia...you've lost quite a bit of weight I see! Congratulations! What are you doing?

Hey there Winter, and welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about ur complications, but I hope you have a successful weight-loss! And I also hope your health improves!!!
