hi, i'm kat, 41 years old, from the UK
i changed my diet and lifestyle a couple of years ago when i became fed up of being unhealthy; i was overweight for my height, had no energy, drank and smoked way too much and wanted a better quality of life for myself and so i could look after my family
so, i stopped smoking and drinking, [the two things still go together in my head so i dont do either! ]dont miss them now either, it's been over a year!
i joined a gym and took a course of swimming lessons to build up my confidence as i hadnt' swum for over twenty years
of course there are days when its nasty outside and i dont want to go to the gym, dont we all
so i get out the wii fit
but i do have a better much improved fitness level, i still love my food but i am careful what i eat, i dont do junk anymore!
the best thing i did was give up smoking and drinking as it was seroiusly affecting my health
i dropped three stone and feel better for it!
anyway, as a consequence i became interested in nutrition and am now more focussed on maintaining a healthy weight, finding new and interesting ways to cook and prepare food and love sharing and finding new recipes to try out
i dont eat red meat now, mainly fish or chicken and i love my veg
hope to enjoy the forum!
