Hi, I am Rhiannon, trying to learn how it works here. I am 48, married, 1 child. I had been stuck at 215 lbs for over 2 years, nothing would help me lose weight. Finally, about 2 months ago, a doctor prescribed Armour Thyroid. My tests all showed "normal" thyroid, but the doctor decided to treat my symptoms, not just go by a test. He said that for some people, tests won't really show what a body needs. Anyway, I am already down 15 lbs, with energy to exercise every evening. I am presently trying to follow South Beach. I realize not everyone is hypothyroid, but it is worth checking it out. I had followed diets to the letter for months, only to see the scale stay the same. Doctors would look at me like I was lying, or sneaking snacks. I admit, I didn't have much energy to really work out until I had been on Armour for a week. I hope I haven't said anything wrong (mentioning a name brand) but if I can help one person, I will be glad.
