Hi everyone!:waving: As the title says... I'm a :newbie:
I'm here in the hopes that it will help me to get my butt off the couch and lose weight.
A little history about me:
I've never been a skinny minny. But I was at least in shape in high school. Doing cheerleading and softball. I weighed 170ish going into my senior year when I met my husband. :beating: Well of course I started to slowly gain the comfortable weight that everyone puts on. At 20, I got pregnant with my first son :), with that pregnancy I got to 250,. After about a year after my son was born, I started to lose weight. Alot of weight. Within 6 months, I lost 50 lbs. Then I got pregnant again at 23, with my second son. I gained 60lbs with this pregnancy. Again about after a year or so, I started to lose weight due to stress. I got down to 220. After the stress was gone, I got comfortable again and went back up to 240-250ish. I was fed up and started going back to the gym and walking everyday, trying to watch what I ate. I got down to 220 again. Then I had an unexpected twist.... I found out I was pregnant at 26. After I had my daughter, I was at 263. Where I currently am now.
Being a Stay At Home Mom now, I find myself being lazy ALOT. :ack2: I still try to go for walks with my dog, I pay for a gym membership that I don't use, cause after all is said and done at night after dinner, I find myself sitting down on the couch reading. I'll look at the Wii Fit and say to myself " it's right there, just get on and do it!" But I never do. And then of course I get mad at myself, cause it's right there and I have no motovation to do it.
I see all these online weight lose forums and have never tried them. So I'm hoping that by doing this, since I check the computer at least 5 times a day, that I can start to get my motovation back to lose the weight I want.
My goal is to be what I was in high school, even though my "ideal" weight is around 140. I don't think I'll ever see that, but I will be happy with 160-170.

That's my story, thanks for listening!:seeya:

Hey and welcome to the site. You found a great place for motivation and support.

I see you are from Laconia. It's a beautiful place to visit. I'm sure you locals hate us tourists but I love the area.

It appears you are ready to live the healthier lifestyle which is great. I wish you the best of luck. Stick around, make some friends and let us know how things are going.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

Matt

Thank you!!!!
And ya, I take for granted that I live in the beautiful Lakes Region of NH. I don't hate the tourists, well maybe only when I'm in my car and there is traffic EVERYWHERE! :rotflmao: But I'm sure you take for granted that you live in home of the Red Sox! I love Boston!

Welcome to the forum.

If I were you I would decide whether or not you want to lose the weight - why and how much. I think that is key to getting the motivation - because it does take hard work. No-one will say that it is easy.

It may be that you want to be healthier so that you can really enjoy playing with your kids - and want to be able to still play when the grandchildren come along.

It may be so that you want to feel that you are as attractive as any of the other mothers / old school friends / women that your husband works with.

It may be so that in 20 years time you look younger than you really are.

Most of us have a button deep inside that if it is pressed turns us into people that can accomplish almost anything. If you can find yours you are half way there.

If you are not going to the gym - why pay them money? Why did you decide to join? Decide whether you want to go and make use of their resources (expertise and equipment) or whether you want to get active in some other way. Put your money towards that instead - but dont pay for something that you are not going to use. The fact that you are paying is clearly not enough motivation at the minute.

If we can once find your motivation - the rest should be fairly straightforward - read up on nutrition and exercise, start a diary and post around the place to make friends and build a support network, track your food and activity using to ensure that your nutrition and activity is on track for weight loss (having read those sections).

Maybe some before/after pictures or just checking everyone's tickers will help you believe that anything is possible if you just find your motivation.

Congratulation to you that making a decision to build a healthy and lean body. Now you have two important matters, which are very important to your fitness success.

First, you need to build a strong mindset of having a lean body. Many people fail to lose weight is because they are not patience and don't have strong desire to lose weight. I recommend to read this book "Think and Grow Rich". Yes this book is talking about getting rich but the concept of having success is also applicable to your fitness goal.

Next, you need a plan to workout for your fitness goal. You can seek for consultant and get their advices for your plan. Once you have your plan, just follow your plan and monitor the result.

Finally, you can always come back here and all of us will assist you!

OIC, so this book your recommending is one that you just happen to be selling, is that right??

Not cool man....As a mod, I can, and will, ban anyone that crosses the line into spamming, hear me?
