Hello! Ive been lurking here for a few days and thought now would be as good a time as any to introduce myself. Im Clara, 33, and mother to 3 very active children. I have always been "larger", cant remember ever being thin, except maybe when I was 3...lol. Through the years, having been in a marriage with a wonderful man that loves me for me, the weight has just kept creeping up and up. Needless to say I have ALOT to lose.
In the past I have tried Atkins, slimfast, and multiple others. All of them I failed at. I decided "you know what, those fad things arent going to work for me. I just need to watch my portions, calories, and above all else, EXERCISE!" So, Ive made the decision and I am sticking with it. BEsides, I see myself in my daughter, she is larger and I want to teach her the proper ways to live. This week when I go grocery shopping, it will be all healthy food...this week and from now on.
Now the problem I am finding is this...I need to find exercise I am able to do. With this added weight, my knees are not the greatest, I actually have been having really bad knee pain. Not to mention the plantar faciatis and heel spurs in my one foot. Any ideas on the best exercise regimen to start that would be low impact for my knees and foot? I really want to get to where I can use these Taebo videos I have, because they look so fun and would love to do that! Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Also, are there any 3rd shift workers that could give ma advie on how you count your day when it comes to calories. With my having 3 kids, I dont have a normal sleep pattern. I actually sleep once when getting home in the morning for about 3 hours and take another 3 hour sleep later in the late afternoon.
Look forward to being a contributing member here and thanks in advance!
