Hi!

My name is Emily and I am currently trying to lose weight. I am 19 years old 5'4 and weight 152. I would like to lose some weight to feel better about myself, look better, and be healthier. I need some advice on meal plans because I am in college and living in a dorm without a kitchen. Our dining hall is very limited and most things are fried, which I try to avoid. If someone could help me tone up and look better it would be greatly appreciated!!

thank you!

Hi emily :)

Welcome to the forums! I've come across several items and methods to help me lose significant weight, one of which is chewing gum. It can really help you to avoid bad food when those cravings hit. Check out extra sugar free - they have many different flavors.

Now, as far as meal plans. Make sure you're getting enough protein and fiber, which will help you remain full and keep you regular.

No kitchen? Ok, stock up on cereal bars would be my suggestion. It'll be way too tempting to go out and get take away or something equally as unhealthy if you're not able to cook at home. I'm going to assume you have a microwave, so may check out vegetable steamers you can pick up at your local grocery store :)

Just pop them in the microwave for ~5min and, voila, yummy goodness :] Just keep an eye on the sodium content with those. I'd like to recommend Asian Medley - really good!

You could also throw in some lean turkey or chicken along with it, which I've done on occasion. Very tasty :)

Every time I read about someone in college trying to lose weight, I always picture a pantry stocked with ramen noodles. Hopefully that's not the case with you. But, if it is, try to limit your intake of those and, remember, nothing tastes as good as thin feels!

Good luck to you! Hopefully my little ramble was helpful in some way :)

Oh, btw, you're height and weight are not bad at all! If I may ask, how much weight are you looking to lose?
