New here, from Tx-HOW DID I GET HERE?

Hello! I have been looking for a support group, as I starting out on my healthy living quest. My name is Beth and I am for Tx. I am 33 yrs old, and have four children ages 6-12, two boys, two girls. I have been married for 13 yrs. My question for the day is HOW DID I GET HERE? I weighed 98 pounds when we got married, and I am 5'5 1.2" tall. Of course 98 pounds was WAY too skinny, but at the time, I couldnt keep the weight ON! So how did I arrive at 150 pounds 13 years later? Well I did have four children, but I cant really blame the weight on them. I didnt really gain much with any of them. But after my second baby I had gained up to about 130 and never really went back down. I did pretty well at maintaining until last year when I had a total hysterectomy. Since then I have developed a belly (where I often get asked if I am pregnant) and just overall weight gain. I do not feel good with my body as it is right now at all! Its very frustrating because so many people say I WOULD LOVE TO BE THAT SIZE, and they have no idea how gaining 20-30 pounds can affect you! I dont want to lose a lot, I want to be healthy, and be down to about 125-130 at the max. But I want to be able to control the snacking when I know I am not hungry! I am using slimfast as my diet of choice, mainly because I like the way it tastes and I am usually green tea caplets to control hunger. So officially today is my first day, although I have been trying to "start" now for about two months, but I went shopping yesterday and bought everything you can think of to be healthy! From TX (well, actually from the UK, but living in TX), 34yrs old, 4 kids. Oldest is nearly 18, youngest is 10mths. I was always a 110lber, I am now a WHOPPING 170!

What form of diet are you using, what is your target weight? Also, have you been posting on here for long? What thread is the best to actually meet friends and post in daily??
 
This is my first day here.. and second post, so I am clueless!

I am not following a specific diet, just eating MUCH less and exercising more. I not only eat my food, but leftovers and all the kdis leftovers!

My goal weight is 125.
 
not sure where everyone meets daily, but I read somewhere to post in the diary section, I think it may help you to be accountable for what you've eaten for the day! Have you ever tried a diet before, and if so were you successful? If so , which diet?
