Hi,
I'm Lena and I'm new to the forums but have been wanting to lose weight and get to my goal weight (125) for as long as I can remember. I have never gotten close to it - not even in my teens, where I was always poked fun at for being too big-boned -- at 135 - 145 lbs, training (swimming) 2 times a day.
Over the years there have been some major ups and downs. Firstly, after I retired from swimming when I was 16 - then promptly lost it in 2 months, to get to a reasonable 140 - 150. Then most notably in 1999 - 2000 with a massive weight gain - up to 180+, with lots of after effects which I deeply regret (stretch marks etc). My weight since then hasn't gotten that high but for the most part I always hover around this area - 165, although lately I have noticed that it's been pushing towards the low 170s if I don't watch myself.
I've spent most of my 20s, if not all of it, being overweight. And I can finally admit that I have held myself back from so many things because of the weight. I don't want 2007 (and the final year of being in my 20s) to be like this yet again.
What works for me? Working out. I need to workout, but with such a hectic schedule .. I can't seem to remain consistent with that. As far as I know that's the only challenge I shall have to face.
I'm 5'5" so I think an acceptable goal weight is 115 - 125 lbs. Although personally I would be satisfied at being where I was at originally (over 10 years ago) i.e. 135 - 145 lbs.
I apologize for the long introduction
