Hi there! My name's Stacey and I really need some help. Last May 23rd I decided it was time to do something about being so overweight. I started following the Weight Watchers plan (not going to the meetings, just doing the Points system on my own), and exercising a lot. I had my little sister's wedding in October pushing me as motivation. I worked really hard and managed to lose 50 pounds :D which was my goal by October 7th. And after that I even managed to lose a little more bringing me to 63 pounds. But since then I've completely lost all my motivation and drive to lose what I really need to lose. I just turned 30 in January and currently I have no major health issues like diabetes, high blood pressure, chest pains, nothing like that - and I don't ever want to. My whole family's over weight and they suffer from some of those things. I've also gained back 23 of those 63 pounds and I'm quite upset about it. I NEED TO CHANGE NOW!!

What I was hoping for, is some motivational tips and tricks that people here on this forum use. You know, like pictures on the fridge and other stuff like that. I'd like to hear what works for you - what keeps you going! Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, from the new girl! :p

Hi Stacey!

We sound very similar. My lil sister is getting married in October this year & I am really determined to lose the weight BEFORE those pictures that will be around forever are taken. I am turning 30 in September & would love to look my best every by then.

As for motivation, I love the support & knowledge I gain from this site. Maybe join a challenge. Those have helped to keep me focused. Also I use sparkpeople.com to track what I am eating through out the day, so I don't accidently over do it.

Good luck & glad you are here.

Thanks Moongoddess! My family are very critical people who point out every little fault, but they were so amazing at my sister's wedding! I have never been complimented so many times in my life from them as I was that weekend! And being the Maid of Honour, I'm soooooo pleased with how the pictures turned out. I went all out for this wedding - lost 50 pounds, had my hair highlighted, manicure, pedicure, waxing, tanning (I was a very pale person), but it was so worth it. I normally hate any picture I'm in but I'm really happy with her pictures!

And the compliments felt so good - I NEED to get back at it! Thanks for your advice - I'm going to go check out the Challenges section right now!

Hi Stacey!

You've already lost a lot of weight (congrats!), so I'm sure you'll be able to lose your way to your goal weight. Maybe try changing up your workouts and diet, so your body doesn't get used to what you're doing currently. Good luck!

Thanks Lovelines! That's good advice too that I really need to try - I was getting a little bored of my old routine.

Everybody here is so helpful! Am I ever glad I found this site!!

Thanks again!
