Hi All,
Signing up because I need some help in my eating habits. The year before last, I followed a diet plan from Dr. Bernstein's guide, and lost 20 lbs. in 3 weeks.
I stayed on the plan, for 6 weeks. Only lost the original 20 lbs. So, that in itself taught me that eating the right foods, in the right portions alone, can control my weight, and drop the pounds. Horaay for me. However, with the inability to change my plan to something with variety, and the fact that I was choking/gagging on eating the same food, day in, day out, also taught me that I can live on one meal a day (just the fruit!)
However, now I have twin baby daughters, and a reason to become healthy, and basically, the (new) desire to learn how to eat better, so that I can teach them to eat properly.
About myself:
That's me in a nut shell. Recently accomplished something professionally in my life, which has had me stressed beyond belief, and therefore, drinking 2-3 beers or stiff drinks every night, so that I could sleep. Else, I'd be awoke in cold sweats, and unable to sleep. This had lasted for about the last 18 months, and I feel, is now behind me. (i.e. not an alcoholic)
However, I am married, so the drinking issue doesn't appear to be leaving anytime soon.
So, I have a ton of questions, and I'll be annoying everybody in the forums soon enough. But there's just a metric shit-load of stickies all over the place for newbs to read, so it'll probably be a month before I get to ask any questions.
Oh, and what's a ticker?
