Hello everyone. I was going to post directly in the diary forum, but i thought i'd stop by here first.

basically, I'm struggling with weight loss, not seeing the results I expected, and I think that keeping a diary and hopefully getting some tips and support on the way may be of help.

I hope to learn much on this forum, and find more motivation.

Hey

Nice to meet you.

As long as your calories out > calories in you will lose weight.

I do this mainly through manipulating the calories I consume but I do walk daily as well as lift weights.

Use a metabolic calculator to work out how many calories you need on a daily basis then eat less than that (it's a rough guide).

Keep a diary of food that you eat (as you suggested) but also add in a 10% variance as sometimes food portions can be bigger than adveritised e.g. a blueberry muffin from mcdonalds has 300 calories so I add 10% which comes out at 330 calories.

Keep me posted.

Thanks for the welcome markleach1.

I hadn't thought about the 10% factor. I will incorporate it into my spreadsheet.

do you have dieticians around here? im just curious if im doing the right thing---decreasing carbo intake or none at all during dinner time. when i do, i eat wheaten toasted bread. im 100lbs and i have tums fat even after walking.

..you are at 100 pounds! how old are you? Give more info because just on that alone, you are underweight. We need more info
