Hi everyone,

I guess I could say I'm very overweight. I'm 27, 5'11 and weigh 250lbs. My dream weight would be 180lbs. 70lbs is a lot and a long way to go, but I really want to stick with this, and hopefully this forum is the motivation I need to stick with it.

I'll be on often, and have a lot to read to get up to speed. Heres to 70 lbs on its way out! :cheers2:

Hello and Welcome to the forum!
I find it really helpful to spend your time on here, it's very motivational.
You can do this, it's something that's life changing, but worth it all
stick around, and let us know how things go for you =)

Thank you so much for the welcome. I started a journal in the diary section to log my progress and give a bit of a back story on myself. It was hard for me to type it, as I am not really a "feelings" type guy. It's good to get it on paper though.

Thanks again!

Hey there! I'm a new member too. I just started pushing myself to go to the gym. I joined one and now i go spinning 3 times a week and lift 2 times a week. Sometimes I need a push to go to the gym as well. It seems like its always easier to work out with someone, and also finding something you like helps as well. I love to spin so it helps to go. Of course there are always days when I need a push. I am looking to lose a lot of weight and my friend I started spinning told me that she lost weight and got in to shape by lots of cardio but mostly lifting the free weights helped. So maybe you could start there. Running is excellent too. This is a good place. It keeps me motivated!
I'm even doing a triathlon this summer!

Hi Rob!

I'm 28 years old and have already lost 65 lbs. I never thought that I could lose that much. I guess what helped me is to be patient and realize that it won't come off quickly. I need motivation at times as well. I find what really helps me is to see my old "fat" pictures. Yuck! I never want to look like that again. I am new to this place, too. So, maybe we can motivate each other!

Hi

I'm new here, and wanted to say good luck on your journey to your goal. I too have a lot of weight to lose. A bit more than you, however ; ) It feels daunting, I know, but I also know that with a lot of hard work and perseverance it can be done. Keeping it off is something else entirely :banghead: Good luck!!

Your very Welcome :)
I'm glad you did write in your diary, I am not too much of a feelings type of girl as well. but it does feel good to write what I feel during my weight loss progress. I'll be sure to read it and post.
Take care Bye :seeya:
