Hello everyone!
So glad to have found this forum.
I am a 25 year old new father of a beautiful baby boy. He is my inspiration to lose the weight and set a proper example for him. After meeting my wonderful wife 5 years ago, the weight went into a steady climb from the quite fit 210 lbs i was at the time, to the rather bloated 278 lbs i was at in November 2008.
I've been going it alone for the past three months (had to get that jump on the new years resolution), and so far have dropped about 30 lbs.
It feels great to have made that progress, but with nearly 50 lbs to go, I feel like I have lost my head of steam. My motivation is dwindling, and after fighting through several plateaus already, I find myself mired in yet another.
I try to shake up my workouts and continue to eat pretty well, but sometimes the old scale just doesnt want to cooperate and it tends to shatter my confidence and self esteem. Depending on my state of mind, the following day will either be really good (hours at the gym and watching the food strictly) or really bad (eating all the foods ive been denying myself, since what i'm doing clearly isnt working).
My hope is to get involved with a good group of people with similar goals that can offer support and advice. I am definately interested in the challenges, and look forward to continuing my journey with the good people of this forum.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and i truly look forward to speaking with each of you.
Andrew
