Hey, just stumbled on these forums. Hope to add something, and take away more ideas on losing and maintaining weight.

I'm Jesse.

I've lost 27 pounds since May 1st 2009. I've still got about 30 pounds to go to reach my ideal weight.

The first pic is last year, about Thanksgiving time.

The second picture was a couple days ago.

Hey Jesse

I am just joining the board now myself...you and I are on a similar track, it would seem.

I started mid-May and have lost 20 lbs now. Still looking to lose another ~30 lbs. I'm going to start a 'diary' thread...share any tips you might have!

Alright, cool!

From one newbie to another. Welcome, I guess! (since no one else has welcomed me) :/

So far, I've just been watching the calories and not stuffing myself. I used to have a problem eating until i was full.

I give myself one day a week where I go to my favorite Mexican resturant and order what I want.:drool5:

I also went out and got myself a Recumbent Exercise Bike. I've been using that every other day for an hour.

I've just recently hit a plateau and I'm going to start adding in resistance bands this weekend after I get my paycheck.

How'd you lose 20lbs?

The first 5 came off practically instantly when I stopped eating fast food/pizza etc.

I was eating crap 2 or 3 times a week...

So I stay away from simple carbs found in bread/rice etc....keep my overall carbs near the 25 g spot, though I don't really measure or be super-uptight about it anymore.

I eat spinach twice a day, and two eggs in the morning. Beyond that, as long as I portion control and not eat 'til I am stuffed, I can eat most anything.

For cheat days, I usually have them every 2 weeks or so...pizza or greasy Denny's type breakfast. Thankfully, my body just burns up the junk and I keep on losing weight. My next cheat is going to be fish and chips. I can't wait for that.

Exercise wise, I broke my biggie bank and signed up for two 1-hour personal training sessions per week, at my local fight gym. These workouts are tough, but lots of fun. Its nice to face an exercise thinking there is no way you'll be able to complete it...but then finding a way to get it done.

After a several weeks of just exercising those 2 days per week, I've since joined a nearby gym and I frequent it around 3 times per week.

So that's how I've been doing it.

heya jesse,
