Hey guys,

My name Adam, I'm 24 years old, 6' tall, and weigh 325lbs. I decided to join this site for words of encouragement, support, and for helpful tips along the way.

- My non-physical goals are: To reclaim a healthy lifestyle and get my unhealthy eating habits under control.
- Physically I'd like to be able to wear a XXL Shirt, Size 40 pants. Currently I'm at a 3x shirt and 46 or 44 size pants.
- Running has always been a weak spot for me, so running 1 mile without stopping in 10 minutes will be a major accomplishment for me.

Food is "fun" for me. I love to watch tv shows about food, reading food blogs, and try new restaurants. I'm a fast food junkie, cheeseburgers are my all time favorite. Pizza is my second true love lol. My third true love is bar food.... Going out drinking heavily on the weekends and crushing wings & sandwiches is an Olympic sport for me!

Growing up, I've always been a big guy but was always involved in sports. I played football from 3rd grade untill I graduated and wrestled from middle school through college. I was a standout wrestler, and wrestled the heavyweight division (285 lbs max weight) I earned 8 varsity letters between football and wrestling, aka I never rode the bench.

I graduated high school in 2009 at 270lbs and have gradually gained the weight in college and after I stopped wrestling in 2010. I'm just tired of letting my weight hold be back and tired of living an unhealthy lifestyle. My biggest challenge to over come will be quitting after a few days and having the " oh well tomorrow I'll get started" mentality.

If you actually read through my entire ramblings, thank you. I look forward to sharing my journey with everyone here.

Hey Adam, my name is David and I just read your post. I too used to go out and drink heavily every weekend and I love Hot Wings. I won't say that I ever really gained a lot of weight but I lost a lot of muscle and replaced it with fat. It took a lot of pushing from my wife to get me to start working out. Now I hardly ever drink and if I do it's only a few (I found that once I stopped drinking heavily my body didn't process it so well so I would get really hungover and that's no fun). If you can get into a good routine and try using portion control at first and working towards eating healthier I think you would see some great results. Do you have a workout plan that you use now? It seems like you were quite and athlete in high school.

Hi Adam,

While I am not a young and athletic "man boy" haha....I do raise them! So I understand "yinz" a little ;)

We live pretty close to the Pittsburgh area (about 90 miles east) ...so I totally understand the addiction to the food! Our whole social experiences are based around food...add being part of an Italian family and I am pretty much screwed.

But anyways...I just wanted to welcome you and tell you as a 40 year old lady...I had such success with this place my first time around, hence the reason I am back. I have complete confidence that you will find great success and support here!

Good luck and start a diary...its a wonderful tool to help on your journey!

Sending Good Vibes your way,
Tete :)

Hi Adam,

Weight creeping up after college... Now i never heard of that before ! Listen, I was in your position just 6 months ago. I weighted 272 pounds and loved food more than my first born (well maybe a little less :reddevil:).

Long story short, i now weight 216 pounds and heading for my goal of 198 with a vengeance. My secret is simple : You need to start NOW and be consistent. Don't forget your not on a diet ! You are taking action and changing the way you live, you're striving for a happier life !

I'm sure you will succeed, keep me posted mate.

Hugo
