New Guy from Kansas City

Hey everyone. Just joined the forum a few minutes ago. Thought it might be nice to have a place to chat with others doing the same thing as myself.

I am 30 and live in Kansas City, MO currently I am checking in at about 235lbs. and stand 5'7 (so tall).

I have been around sports and fitness for years, but was never too serious about it for myself. I actually let myself get to 315lbs. But then using the magic of eating disorders lost it all and that as long as I was thin I was healthy. Until a wreck nearly broke my neck and almost killed me. For years I allowed myself to get out of shape, gain half the weight back and let my health deteriorate to the point where I was fearful of a heart attack before 30.

This changed about a year ago when I put all of my knowledge to use and started changing my nutrition. And a month ago rejoined my old gym and started a solid workout program.

So far I am down 30lbs from last year. Slow going but that was on nutrition alone. Now that the fitness aspect has come into full play dramatic results are starting to occur.

I can use all the encouragement I can get right now, to keep me motivated.

And in return, I am happy to share any and all of the knowledge I have gained over the years. I am fairly knowledgeable in the nutrition and fitness areas.

I hope to meet lots of great people here, and if anyone works out at Scott Fitness in Kansas City- I wouldn't mind a workout partner :)

Doug

Oh...here is a pic- once I get some progress photos up I will post them in another thread. And I will show the horrible terrible photos of me at 315 (scary music)

BTW this pic is from monday. (4-14)

Sadly your (God Forbid) almost died, but your alive and a great example of someone who can and will live a longer and happier life. It takes time and lots of effort.
But, who said it would be easy..right?
Once again glad you found us on here, I'm really eager to see progress pictures Wohoo =)
