:waving: Never tried a forum before. Ever since I can remember my weight has fluctuated constantly. At one point I was my goal weight and that lasted a good 6 months. Now, I'm 20 pounds heavier and miserable. I need a work-out buddy to stay motivated! I want to keep the weight off this time.

I forgot to mention that my diet consists of SlimFast shakes and running 1 hour a day 6 days a week.

Hello!

Welcome to the forum. Yes i have the same problem. Some days I just dont feel motivated to do much of anything but lay on the couch! But the results are worth the fight. Things worth wanting take work.
Everyone here is so helpful. We will motivate you! :)

Hi another motivation ploblem just like me :)).
You run one hour six days a week that is somethink if you keep running you proabably lose weight .Do you practice another sport that running?
What contains your diet?

My wife tried the slimfast shake and bar diet for a couple of months, and it did work to begin with. But she ended up getting very bored of it, and it was pretty expensive too. Didn't read the cans at the time, are they full of artificial sweeteners? She's now trying a low(ish) carb diet, with the occasional spud and slice of brown bread.

Hello everyone! Sorry, I haven't been on for a couple of days (but no worries, I'm still exercising! lol). Thank you all for the warm welcome!!

@prodigy 88 It's not liquid only. I'm just drinking two shakes a day as breakfast and lunch. Then two snacks and a small meal for dinner and lots of water. They're not very tasty but I'm used to it now.

@Vernilion_Crine: Other than running, I'll usually do a pilates DVD. I've tried the "MTV Pilates" with the instructor Kristin McGee. It's a pretty good dvd for the abs. I recommend it! Keeping motivated is tough! I seem to burn out within a week! I read that if you weigh yourself every day it helps so I'm trying that. What are you trying to stay motivated?

@dietdan: I had no idea they had artificial sweeteners! Maybe I should try something else. =/ I agree that the taste gets very boring AND they are very expensive! According to their diet plan you have to drink 2 a day. I get the packs at target and they come in 6 can packs for 6-7 dollars so yeah that definitely adds up! Honestly, I have no idea what the best foods are for dieting but if anyone wants to give me a few pointers that would be much appreciated!

Ingredients of a SlimFast chocolate shake:

Fat free milk, water, sugar, cocoa (processed with alkali), gum Arabic, calcium caseinate, cellulose gel, canola oil, potassium phosphate, cellulose gum, soybean lecithin, mono and dyglicerides, artificial flavour, carrageenan, maltodextrin and dextrose.

Vitamins and Minerals

Magnesium phosphate, calcium phosphate, sodium ascorbate, vitamin e acetate, zinc gluconate, ferric orthophosphate, niacinemide, calcium pantothenate, manganese sulphate, vitamin a palmitate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin, thiarnin mononitrate, folic acid, chromium chloride, biotin, sodium molybdate, potassium lodide, phylloquinone (vitamin k1) sodium selenite, cyanocobalamin (vitamin b12) and cholecalciferol (vitamin D3).

...so although there are plenty of vitamins and minerals, there are some not so good things in there too!

I'm also doing the slim fast shake replacement and i love it! i have to disagree with you on the boring part! i've become very fond of it and i like thats easy to do..Have you tried using the powder instead of the cans? its 14 servings for around the same price of 6 cans..and i think it tastes alot better! I'm always on the go so making time to make food is such a hassle sometimes! Slim fast shakes are exactly what i need!
