Feedback welcome, and appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. Do you do any weight training?

Thanks for responding so fast =)
I do weight train.....not faithfully though. The thing is...I used to lift alot..... and built a lot of muscle. I would really love to just get a lot leaner now, and even with doing high reps/low weights, I still feel like my muscles bulk up fast. I know girls cant get bulky....but its bulky for me!! So i stick with loads of cardio, but I know there is an easier way to get smaller....suggestions??

Not that I know anything about anything, but... what about going the route that gymnasts and/or dancers take - they're strong without being bulky. (I've no idea what training that'd require but I'd imagine they incorporate both cardio and weights. If you can, you can visit the website and go to their shop. They have a poster there of one of their dancers flexing her back muscles - talk about definition...) Also try adding something like yoga for strength and flexibility?

Hi new girl! :D

Hello Kitty posted a link to article (which got a lot of 'opinion' XD ) about ladies' workout routine. I would skip the intro completely and go to the part where the author laid out a suggested training (don't know about the diet though, personally I just look into the workout for ideas)

You can be the judge if this fits for your need ;)

About bulking up, well, I heard that alot too lol about how women can't (or perhaps to put it correctly, a lot harder for women) to bulk up. Anyway, everyone's different. *shrugs* ;)
Currently I am following a routine from Slim in 6 (recommended by other member here with similar goal as mine) and so far I am loving it. It hits on a whole body workout with natural or low resistance, focusing on strengthening muscles.

P.S. about dinner, ask Stingo lol he is like a well of food ideas :D

Geez, the photograph of the dancer is awesome. That would be a long-distant goal, lol.
And that article about females lifting was very enlightening!! Ive definitely been one of those 1000-crunches-girls, and havent seen the tiny waist yet, haha. I will be trying those workouts.
Thanks for the help!!

as for my dinner....
it sucked!! lol. absolutely horrible diet wise....
ate 2 of those organic crispy rice bars, 110 calories each
and part of a sweet potato

diet needs major overhaul =-\

Whole natural foods are the way to go - chances are if it's in a box it's too processed and not as efficient as something natural.

Ok friends Im back!! =) Sorry, its been crazy trying to get those last visits in with all the family before I came back to school and all that good stuff....but Im back and settled in, so I can keep in touch better!! Here's been my week so far-
Monday- had no food in my apartment since I got in so late Sunday night, so I had to wait until the evening to eat....which of course, always backfires and I eat too much! But I'll fess up to my bad day.. I had a whole can of vegetarian chili, two slices of ezekiel bread, and 2 of these HUGE choco chip vegan cookies....then I tried to run for 30 min and I felt like I was going to throw up everything I ate...so I had to stop. No more eating big meals before working out!!
Tuesday-B-oat bran
L-turkey on ezekiel bread
D-few slices of turkey, apple, and some baked lays
workout was 30 min elliptical, 20 min treadmill (walk on incline) and
10 min on the bike
Wed- did a 45 min power walk on the treadmill when I woke up
B-oat bran
had class straight until 5 and we arent allowed to eat in class anymore....so that sucks but when I came home and walked for 15 more minutes, did some exercises on my ball, ate a rice cake and some baked lays (definitely could be making some better choices here, I know I need more protein and veggies) and passed out. This new schedule is hard, taking 25 credit hours! So heres to another day of classes 7-3...wish me luck! I will be back tonight.

k so heres what I ate today.....tooo many carbs not enough protein....
breakfast-luna bar
throughout the day- 3 rice cakes, apple
dinner-few slices of turkey, some baked lays and some veggie soup
workout will be 45 to 60 min of cardio

I'd say not enough protein and not enough calories, but that's me. Step away from the processed foods also -you'll be glad you did.

25 units is inSANE. Wow, my hats off to you. Do try and get away from the processed stuff like the lays and the rice cakes. They don't do anything for you. Maybe add some almonds or walnuts in your day if you find it hard to get calories in with your schedule. They're easy to munch...without a prof noticing :) I agree, some of your days are a little too low on the cals and protein.

Sooo I need to edit for yesterday..... I posted that at like 4 and I stayed up late last night, so of course hunger continued, and i snacked on 2 (ouch) more luna bars and a banana. 3 luna bars in one day is absolutely ridiculous, but it was partial mindless snacking too so its my fault and one thing ive been trying to monitor. I have a journal that Im writing in so I can see how to avoid this. Obviously I need more solid meals though! I did do some cardio though so thats good. Normally I do about an hour of cardio, but didnt get that much in. I am a work-in-progress.....so all help is welcome =) Im the kind of person that likes strict schedule when it comes to my eating habits (which obviously hasnt been going well) and lifestyle, so eating the same thing everyday at the same time would actually benefit the psychological side of this process. I need good ideas for food that I could sneak and eat in class, lol. Any ideas?? I know nuts would be optimum but Im not a huge fan of them, other options would be best.
oh yea...and I am allergic to wheat and dairy, and I dont eat red meat. Tough!

I DO appreciate stingo!! Thanks for the recipe- i love smoothies and wil def be trying it out.
so tonight im going to a vegetarian thai restuarant with a friend....any suggestions on what to eat?? Ive never been to one before..

Good question, since I generally have pahd thai (thai noodles) which by and large have meat in with them... Your best bet is to ask your server, if the menu isn't obvious.

yipes, you're pretty limited! well I can relate to the strickness thing. I function on all or nothing reasoning so I need clear cut boundaries and a clear cut plan before I launch into anything. Sticking with the same food day after day is also comfortable for me. Can you drink in class? possibly make a whey powder based shake and put it in a tupperware plastic drink cup? I don't go to classes but when I'm on the run I sometimes make a "smoothie" type drink for when I'm out so I don't either go hungry or grab something I shouldn't. The only other thing I can think of is making your own protein bars and after measuring them, cutting them into bite sized pieces to take with you and pop in your mouth when you're able at class.
