Hello everyone,
I'm brand new! My name is Charlotte and I live in Canterbury in England, where I am currently studying the last year of a history degree. I have suffered - as many of you probably have - from obesity for most of my life. I am 22 and constant dieting in my early teens caused me to suffer from an eating disorder until i was about 19. I am now perfectly healthy (mentally) but I would still like to feel healthy physically. I have already lost a bit of weight through attending 'weight-watchers' with my mum, but as you can imagine these sort of classes are fairly expensive and being a poor student, I can no-longer afford the weekly fee. However, attending these classes has helped me to realise that group support and being in contact with similar minded people, or those who are in a similar situation can provide a support system which can be key to an individual successfully losing weight! So here I am!
I have met a plateau and am no-longer losing any weight and I think that this is because I find it difficult doing it alone - i am proud of my achievements, yet I am becoming very frustrated, I am hoping to make some new friends and would love to hear other peoples stories along their weight loss journey.
(i notice that a majority of you are American and that you measure your weight in pounds, being British I work in stones, I am going to put my weight in stones and then in pounds in brackets - if this confuses anyone tell me)
So my starting weight was 15 stones (or 210 pounds), I have reached 12 stones (168 pounds) - which has me stuck!!
