Hi everyone.

I have joined todayand look forward to reading and getting some inspiration from you all.

About 8years ago I went from 12st 7lb (175lbs) down to 9st 4lb (126lbs). My weight has gradually increased and I'm now approx 9st 12lb (138lbs). I really don't want to let it spiral out of control. I must admit though, once you are passed 45 it does seem harder to shift (or is that me making an excuse)

Hello yourself.

I found my weight gradually increasing as I aged, mostly because my activity level had gone *way* down and my intake (due to the preponderance of marketing efforts and "bad" food and drink makers) increased. Once I got the wakeup call I was able to lose all the weight I needed to, even at a (much) advanced age.

While your metabolism will slow down somewhat, it's mostly because you aren't eating right and exercising the way you used to. But I actually find it far easier to lose weight (and keep it off) now that I'm older, because the information out there is so much better than it was 30 years ago. With that knowledge there is no reason not to get slim and stay slim and I'm just glad I took the time to find that out.

Good luck to you and I know you'll succeed.
