New girl, please talk to me! :)

Hi everyone. I am new here. I am currently on a mission to lose 35 lbs. I weigh 160 right now, and am 5'4. I have a 2 year old, but sadly I cant blame the extra pounds on him. I've pretty much always been around this size, sometimes up to ten pounds heavier, sometimes up to 10 pounds lighter. I've lost 5lbs in the last 2 weeks, since starting my "mission". Basically i am just trying to stay below 1400 calories a day, and doing cardio for 45 min. 2/3 times a week. I want to increase the frequency of that, as well as start using my free weights once I am in to the swing of things.

Anyway, I'm interested in talking to people and sharing tips/support, etc.

Hello, I am new too. (well kinda)


Hey! I haven't been on here in over a year, before today! I was cleaning up my desktop, and saw this site. Anyhow, when I came to it, I was reading what I wrote on 6-06 and I realized I have been complaining about my weight for years and it is time I do something about it. So here I am. I weigh about 162 right now, but 3 weeks ago I weighed 177. That is scary because I am 5'2.
I would love to blame my chubbiness on my kids, but the truth is I didn't eat right. My 1st goal is 159 to be out of the 160's then my real goal is 140.

Hi there, welcome to the forum. It's really helpful and there's tons of info and support around here. Read the stickied threads keep me on track diary, I find that really helps keep me on track. I've only been here fore like 2 weeks and have also lost about 5 or 6 pounds! YAY! I started at 165 so we have similar goals. I'd like to get down to about 130. Good luck on your journey!

Sounds like you're off to a great start. I wouldn't go to much below your 1400 calories. If anything, I'd shoot for 1400-1500 per day.

And adding in some weights would be excellent.
