Just joined the forum and wanted to say hi. I finally made my first new years resolution this year and that was to lose the weight. I have about 100 lbs to lose. Just looking to get some advice, or just meet some people to talk to who are going through the same thing. :)

I am doing the same thing. I have a little bit more than 100 but i just started monday. I am super excited even after 3 days of hard exercise. Love to keep in contact during our life style change :)

I am definitely committed to this but it's been getting frustrating because I weigh myself every day after I work out (I keep everything the same - I always do it after my shower, wearing only the same towel, etc so make it as accurate as possible) but I'm finding that I'm going down then right back up, but I'm not even eating poorly. Thursday I was 226.8 then yesterday was 223.6 and today I was back up to 226.6. Is it normal for it to fluctuate like that? I'd much rather just see it keep going down.

I would love to keep in contact with you, we can be each others motivation! :)

Try not to weigh after working out, you weight will vary too much due to fluid loss through sweat. It is also perfectly normal for it to fluctuate, If the fluctuations are hard to cope with try ony weighing once per week and not every day.

I am interested in giving and getting some support, as well. I am at an all-time high of just under 200lbs, despite having once considered myself someone who could control her weight.

So to those of you who are working out, what types of exercise are you doing and how much?

Thank you. I didn't even think of that. I'll try doing it before. :)

I'm going to the gym 6 days a week, an hour and a half each time. One day I do cardio, the next day I do weights. That may not be for everyone, that's just what the trainer at my gym made up for me to do.

Maybe I should do that. Either way you'd be doing the same amount, but that seems to be a better way to break it up.

Hey! I'm in the same boat...
I weigh about 230 at 5'7". i have a goal to be under 200lbs by summer. I'd love to get in on a motivation team! I don't eat very much unhealthy food but I eat a lot. I've come to realize that I am an emotional eater and even if I"m eating something that's not terribly bad for me I eat way too much of it. No portion control!! So, that's what I'm working on and making sure I get in at least 45 minutes of exercise everyday. I have an golden retriever who loves to run so we've been running (more like, jogging!) everyday. I'm not going to weigh myself everyday, rather measure myself every 2 weeks.

I'm not concerned about a weight number so much, mostly being healthy and active and having clothes fit better.
