Hello everyone! My name is Melanie and im brand new to the forum, so i thought i would introduce myself.

I am 20, i am from Bath in the Southwest of England, and lately i have been putting on a few more pounds than i would have liked!

I am not obese, or "hugely" (maybe the wrong word? lol) overweight, but i'm at the point where i don't really feel comfortable in my own body. Like i feel a little uncomfortable at the amount of 'winter padding' increasing, and lots of my clothes not fitting/ being tight, you know what i mean?

I eat fairly healthily, and i am really interested in food. I am a student at the moment, but have been a full-time chef/ part-time chef/ in the catering industry for about 5 years now, so i am a little obsessed with food. Always have been i guess.

Its like, mainly not THE food thats the problem, its THE AMOUNT of food thats the problem. Im not cramming my face full of ice cream or cookies every night- but when i have lunch or dinner the portion sizes would probably feed at least 2 people, lol. Also i suppose i drink a little too much- not good all those empty calories (or the slightly 'fuller' calories i consume the day after a drink-fuelled night! lol)

So i am starting a diet tommorow, and i hope you will all wish me luck! Thanks everyone :)

I have that same problem with food. I am not as skilled as you are of course, but I love to cook and try new foods. And then I make something that's amazing and eat three servings! Which does not help with the spare tire, at all. But it was tasty. :)

I've found that since I really started counting calories and watching what I ate, that alcohol stopped being "worth it". Yeah I liked the drinks, but the stuff I liked was so high in calories, and I had to drink two or three to get a buzz, and it just stopped being worth it.

Good luck!
